Getting Super Glue Off Paint

TroyScherer

Ummm.... Ya.....

I had a coworker that know I detail asked me what to do. He tried to reapply an emblem to his trunk using superglue. In doing so he got the super glue on the bumper. I have not looked at it yet but when I asked how much he said "A good bit". It is fairly fresh 1-2 days if that matters.

So does anyone have any experience or ideas? I am guessing that 2500-3000 sanding would do the trick, bu I want the least agressive if possible. We have a liquid that "melts" instant CA glue at work. (Basically a wood workers super glue) that I might try.

acetone will remove superglue. not sure what it will do to the paint.

Bingo! Use a q-tip to hit the glue and it will dissolve slowly..it will dull the clear a tad, but that's buffed out very easy. I use acetone to remove heavy over-spray all the time
