Hello,
I've been a longtime reader of the forums, but this is my first post. I have done many searches and have read the excellent detailing guides, but I just wanted to get some feedback before I get back into detailing.
I had been an avid user of Zaino on my 2003 Acura Cl Type S, and on my wife's 1999 VW Jetta. When we moved to Manhattan in 2005, however, we sold the Acura and left the VW back in the Midwest. Unfortunately, the VW was essentially neglected from a detailing perspective for two years until we moved to Northern Kentucky in 2007. The Jetta now has some swirl marks that I would classify as mild. Since moving back, we have purchased a 2007 Acura MDX for my wife. I hate to admit that the only thing I've done to the car since August is wash it with Z-7. Also, last week, I just purchased my new toy, a 2008 Porsche Cayman S. I haven't even washed it yet as it's been sitting in the garage since the day after I picked it up (left for vacation the next day).
I initially had planned to start using Zaino again, but I've realized that they have developed some new products since I last used it, so I would be essentially starting from scratch buying new supplies and learning the new system. Therefore, I figured I should do some research to make sure that there wasn't a better option. So far, I'm leaning towards using the Sonus-Klasse method as described in the detailing guides, topped with P21S 100%. For the Jetta, I was going to get a UDM to do some mild polishing. This won't be necessary on the Acura or Porsche. I have never used a DA polisher, but from reading the guide, I think I could handle it.
What do you guys think? Would this be reasonable, or is there something else I should consider?
Thanks in advance. This is truly a great forum.
Tony
