Keep it clean!
I'm trying to decide on what kind of generator to buy for my mobile rig (van).
Also what size do you guys (and girls!) recommend? Any good sites that have decent prices. I'm figuring a 3500-5000w will do the trick. Lets say a radio, fan/heater, polisher/extractor will be hooked to it.... no more than 2 constant with intermittent polisher/extractor use.
 
I have a mobile rig and also use a 3500 watt. I have had no problem with the same equpment you speak of. I think and this is just my opinion. Try to get one that has the largest gas tank. the one that I have has a 9 gallon tank, when I was shopping around everything I saw was the 7 gallon tank. So I got the 7 gallon used it for a couple of months and it worked good. But when I had to get a second genrator I found one with a 9 gallon tank and let me tell you those two gallons is a world of a diference. Very rarely do I have to worry about the genrator having gas or not.

I have a 5500 watt porter cable gen... its actually one that i used during the 4 huricanes we had here in florida last year.
 
yeah, I figured as much... that's around the sizes I was looking at. Now, where is the cheapest place to buy one!

thanks for the link. I don't know anything about that brand, and you know what they say, you get what you pay for! I've been shopping around online and ebay, and there is one up for auction that is in Orlando which would be cool.... no shipping!
