Gave the beater SVT a bath

I picked this car up in late Jan. It was totalled, hit in the left rear. The accident took out the spoiler, decklid, fiberglass aftermarket bumper cover, crash bar and left quarter panel. The floorpan didnt get damaged. Anyway, picked it up for a song and gave it to the bodyshop while I was in WY for work. Went and picked it up a month later and gave it a good bath.

I have most of the dirty pics on my home machine, I have only uploaded the LF exterior. :( The exterior pic doesnt show how bad the car actually was. They had covered its tail with some plastic after the accident and the adhesive from the tape really didnt want to come off. The paint was extra swirly, especially where the paintshop had just polished. The hood could give reflections of shapes but nothing near as sharp as it should have been. During the claying I found out that the car had been repainted and was actually metallic black.

Anyway, second time with the PC. Had to use the collection of Sonus goodies that just had been delivered

I used (going from memory):

Meguias car wash

Sonus gray claybar on paint (wheels/glass were two different old Meguiars bars)

PC 7336

Sonus orage, green and blue pads

Klasse AIO, Klasse sealant

topped with Meguiars #26

Stoners for all the glass

Mothers Reflections(?) on the tires

Only exterior before :( :

Someone was mad at the previous owner:

And this is what rolled in after the car rolled out of the garage. Had an inch of snow on it by nightfall:

Details on the car:

`98 Contour SVT (not sure if 98 or 98.5)

121K on the clock

Interior is in great shape except for old purple tint, some white latex paint on the left rear floormat and a wear hole in the driver's mat.

The reason I bought it....

....its supercharged! :woot2:

Same reason I bought my SVT. Supercharged from the factory. I like the color of the wheels.

My second forced induction vehicle ever, I love it.

The wheels are rattle can Duplicolor that the auto parts store carries. Repaired any nicks/scuffs/curbing, prepped, four coats of color, four of clear. Much better then the damaged paint, curbing, etc.

Actually the SVT Contour was NOT supercharged from the factory. That had to have been added by a previous owner....

Great little cars though :xyxthumbs
