Garage Remodel - Paint Scheme Suggestions

I'm painting my garage within the next week or so and I'm looking for suggestions on the paint scheme. I have pretty much narrowed it down to the six choices below (Reference my mad paint skills). The colors have been matched to Race Deck flooring because I would like to install it someday.





I haven't decided between an interior or exterior paint yet but I'm leaning towards either a satin sheen with possibly a semi or gloss finish on the stripes.

Please vote and tell me what you like, don't like, would do differently, or have learned from your experiences.

Your thread is actually the one that inspired me to consider incorporating the darker grey into the bottom half of the wall. One of the original ideas was to do dark grey on bottom with the lighter gray single stripe white on top on the outer walls and blue on top on the back wall similar to how you did yours. I just went through and remade a version of the idea and figured out why I didn't like it as much. Originally I had the greys flipped like in #1. Here I redid them.

 
:) well that's nice to know I could help in some way. I like the new pictures you posted, but then again I am a little biased :)

I actually went back to some of my first concept sketches and I had it like your number 3 example. (with red in place of the blue) Then I switched it to black. I actually painted the trim black, but it looked wrong next to the dark gray. Not enough contrast; so I reverted to white.

I think yours could look great with either a white or blue trim strip, or a combination, like your number 5.

I look forward to seeing the results.
 
It's funny that you say that because after going through it all with the wife we came down to our final 2 options.



This is where it really gets tough because I like them both and they both have their pro's and con's.

I like the first set because it allows me to use the darker grey as the accent color painting my doors, trim, and workbench/shelves/etc in it. I don't have any windows so I think the lighter grey would possibly lighten up the space a bit. But since I will be painting everything instead of vinyl stripes it will definitely be a bit more work.

I really like the contrast in the second set. I would still do all my trim in the darker grey but possibly paint the two doors in the lighter grey. Maybe even see how my workbench and such look in the lighter color.

It's a house divided between the wife and I and even though it's "my garage" I get the strange feeling that my vote doesn't hold any more weight than hers.
 
Those are both nice options.
I would say if you're going with a dark color floor, then go with the first set. If a light color floor then the second set will be perfect.
 
Thanks for the input, I painted up some test spots on a scrap piece of drywall before I left for work so I'll be interested to see how they turned out when I get home. I wasn't able to paint the stripes to scale but I think it will help to actually see the colors in the light of the garage.

I eventually plan to put Race Deck flooring down but in the mean time I think I may just paint the floor. Then I've got to make a decision on how much I'm going to spend for a "temporary" solution, which very well could end up being permanent with the amount of projects that I have going on. I really do like the look of the rust bullet on your floor because it seems like it almost has a metallic type sheen to it. It's a little hard to tell from the pictures but would you consider it light or dark?
 
I like number 4 in your first post. Cool yet has a refined look. The white on the top will help with lighting.
 
It depends on what scheme your trying to go for at your place
If it was me I would go for thr graphite color with a maroon color then with some banners or large pictures on the wall.

It shows the metallic and reflective nature of the paint. It is like a cross between silver and light gray.
 
I made my final decision on the paint scheme, going with the lighter grey set, had to work this weekend so I will be finishing a project for the church that's taking up most of my floor space this week then getting everything pulled moved around, cleaned out and prepped for paint. I hope to be laying down some paint this weekend but I'm on-call at work so we will see how that goes.

Also, I ordered a laser level to assist with getting all the lines straight and that should be in by this weekend as well. DEWALT Self-Leveling Line Laser-DW087K at The Home Depot

For flooring I've narrowed the decision down to either RaceDeck or tile. I really like the look and durability of tile but think the RaceDeck free flow tiles would be a better fit in a "detailing" garage.
 
I would love a tile floor, until I got the price $48,000 installed for 1800sf.
