Garage Pics

Glenn,

From the cars to the garage, that is one sweet place! :bow :bow :bow

I really like how clean and spacious it looks.

Thanks for the inspiration.

Cheers,

Glenn,

Great space, with all the goodies too :) Is that a DVD player under your TV?

I see you have a ceiling extension cord over by the benches and tub... is it tensioned to draw the cord back in? And how do you reach it - looks a bit high to me!

And what paint did you use on your floor? You don't seem to have any tire lift-off. What's your secret!

Glenn, I am envious of your garage. Now thats what I call a garage. Do you have heat and air?

Thanks. I am very fortunate to have heat and air. My garage was originally the sales office for the development tract so they routed in heat and air.

Under the TV is a satellite receiver. You probably cannot see it, but the DVD player is a part of the TV. I found this TV at Costco, so that it saves space by not having to have a separate DVD.

Yep the extension cord is tensioned. I had to readjust it to make it easier to get access to.

The floor has held up fine for over 2 years now. My neighbor had his floor lift after over 6 months with a single part epoxy from home depot. I used a 2 part epoxy from the local Sherwin Williams paint store. I need to go back and find out exactly what it is as I constanstly get inquires about it. I added the optional grit for grip. The epoxy is great as I have left brake fluid on the floor for days and it was unaffected. I have a few minor scratches caused by dragging heavy metal objects across it, but it has held up very well.

Thanks,

Glenn

I went to the paint store today and it looks like the Rust-oleum 2 part epoxy paint that I used has been phased out and been replaced with their Epoxy Shield Product. I saw other posts from others who seem to be having good results with this new product.

I definitely remember that the older stuff I used was not a water soluable based product. We also used muriatic acid to clean and etch the floor before applying the epoxy.

Before joining Autopia, I thought all men were messy beings. You prove me wrong! I'm attracted to you Autopians for this very reason. Very nice indeed. :)

wow! nice garage!

hey, we live in the same city lol.

anyways, I'm thinking about doing my garage floor this weekend. The weather has been pretty good (well, too hot). I'm glad to know you used the stuff from Home Depot.... I think I will go and get that. I have to clean the garage floor.

How did you etch the garage floor?

Actually, if you reread my original post, I did not use the Home Depot stuff. My neighbor did with very bad results. I used muriatic acid to clean and etch the floor.
