Wheel wells are fine. If you don't mine you can even use it on tires :D

Bass,

You've discovered what several have observed about EK on engines. You'll find I'm a big fan of EK on wheel wells and any underbody plastic paneling. Hehe heh I posted a lot about EK vs. Mop &Glo floor shine being EK is now discontinued.

Wheel wells! Works great since it dries hard! Easy to clean once they are treated with EK.

I use it also for full undercarrage/suspension parts etc. Make them look really nice!

I too had problems with it in the engine bay no matter which sprayer I used. Now use 303, and if I'm feeling generous I use 1Z Cockpit Premium. The 1Z really looks good on engine bay items, but it's costly. 303 seems to do the trick for now.

Deanski

303 all the way for me under the hood :xyxthumbs

Thanks guys - i'll be using it for my wheel wells - (might take a while to use a gallon ;) )

have a great night!!

It took some experimenting but, I am getting pretty good results with EK in my engine bay. They main thing is to find a really good sprayer that can deliver a really fine mist. I have been re-using old consumer Meguiars Quik Detailer bottles. The sprayer has a really good atomizer that is better than anything I have tried including expensive sprayers from Meguiars, Griots and several other places that escape my mind at the moment. Another thing that has helped me is to dillute EK 50/50 with water.

Here is a pic I took tonight. It was done last week so it might be a bit dusty but, I think it came out pretty well.

Bob that looks great - i actually bought one of those olive oil misters and the spray is very fine (never tried mixing it with water) and it was still too spotty for me thefeore moved to CD-2 and i love that stuff

I really like those olive oil sprayers I use them for qd and for 303 on my tires :up

I use Engine Kote on wheel wells, and I also use it on the lower plastics on the front of my car.

I've found that the spray head makes a large difference in how successful it is in the engine bay. I also dilute it 1:1 with water so that I can spray the bay down more liberally without applying twice as much EK. I find this helps a lot in getting complete coverage. :)

Mr Concours,

here's a link for the cd-2 stuff - I use Meg APC to clean the engine and just spray the detail stuff and it comes out great

Thanks again everyone :)

I tried CD2 last weekend for the first time. I was skeptical it seemed to easy, wow all I can say.

Lately I have been feeling dissapointed with the products I have been trying based on claims by the MFG and others. This one lived up to its "hype" Best 3 bucks I have spent on car care stuff in a long, long time.

I contacted CD2 about Engine Detailer.

I saw it at AutoZone and thought it might be a good thing.

The Rep e-mailed me back that CD2 is not an arcrylic, but silicone. I don't know about you guys...but I don't want silicone on my rubber hoses, belts, seals, etc.
