Wow... i'm so retarded... I put klasse glaze on a moisened bonnet and spred it onto my hood (i knew i put to much but i continued anyway...)

To make things even worse, i put on another coat 20 minutes later, same amount, but with my hand this time...

I let it dry for 2 hours, and now I come back to buff it out...

I tried using a clean bonnet on my 7424, no luck... glaze was hard as rock and not moving...

bumped it up to speed 6, a little bit came off....

took off the bonnet and just used the sfx 3 finishing pad, a little more came off...

did the rest by hand using a microfiber waffle weave cloth, and i got the rest off, but by the time that happened, the sun went down, so i cant REALLY inspect any of my work...

is it always this hard to remove?!

do you think I damaged anything by running speed 6 with a bonnet?

I inspected with an overhead fluorocent light and two 250 w halogen bulbs and it seems alright, guess ill have to wait till tomorrow to know for sure! :wall

If you're talking about the Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze (SG), if you get it on too thick like that you can always use some water, or QD, to help dissolve and remove the excess.

Setec - I did that too! but now I just read that doing that will cause an oily film to develop down the road... damnit!

what should I do now?

I've never heard of an oily film developing from using water or a QD like Sonus Acrylic Spritz...I guess if you use an oily QD that might happen. AIO is a surefire way to remove excess SG without causing any problems (other than having to reapply SG). I think some people have used additional SG to loosen stubborn dried SG haze.

excellent! so AIO will remove SG completely?

if so, i think ill just apply AIO and try SG again... there is just WAY to much on right now, i can scratch it with my fingernail and see the mark =|

Also, is it okay to just leave AIO on there WITHOUTH SG?

and is it also okay to leave SFX 3 without anything on top?

AIO should remove any SG residue, andis fine without SG, it just won't be as durable. SFX3 is a polish only and won't leave any protection as AIO will.

To remove haze caused by too much SG use 3 parts distilled water with 1 part SG in a mister bottle (works a little better than a sprayer). WOWO and you have not harmed a thing.

I dunno why you put *more* KSG on if you already knew it was on there too thick  Heh heh, consider that a lesson learned ;)

AFAIK the "film" issue is delayed onset blooming from too-thick applications and it's not all that common. I dunno if I'd bother taking AIO to it, I'd probably just wash it and give it another buffing. FWIW I'd do the buffing by hand if you put it on (too) thick, the bonnets usually only work well for me with very thin applications.

I wouldn't be touching painted surfaces with your fingernail ;) I still think you oughta hold off on redoing the whole job. Too much stuff on the paint doesn't *to me* mean you gotta start over, but rather that you just need to buff off some of that excess stuff.

If you put it on too thick and it is hard to remove, try adding more sg to a pad and applying it again. This time remove it right away (*wOWO type). this should soften up the previous coat of SG and be better than water or any QD in therms of compatibility.
