soory to hear about that. if someone doesn't have insurance (they should spend the night/day in jail to give them a wake up call), they shouldn't be driving period. just think what could happen if they hit someone and killed them...

Did you call the cops ?

They don't come out for fender benders. I've submitted it to my insurance though. Nice having a cell phone with a camera though, so I have their plate number.

I feel your pain. My new Nitro was sideswiped overnight a month ago. Cops don't do any reports or respond in Philadelphia unless serious bodily harm. Hope some remedy to make you whole will result with the tag number.

She seemed nice afterwards, so it wasn't a drive off. I'm handing it off to my insurance company, then see what they want to do. Looks like its just the plastic cover over the bumper thats damaged. If the insurance company can't get it 100% paid for, I'll probably end up in small claims court.

Yes, they normally don't here either, but the motorist had no valid insurance, correct ? Here, that's a $1000 fine, and if you cause an accident, you can actually get arrested for it.

Did this individual drive off afterwards ? It didn't concern you that they may cause a large-scale accident, uninsured ?

proof that aquartz is terrible, it didn't even protect the paint against THAT! bah!

jk, that sucks, hope everything goes smoothly for ya

Sure it concerns me, but what can I do if the police aren't going to respond? I gave all the info to my insurance company and will follow up with them on Monday.

AeroCleanse- Aw jeeze, sorry to hear about that.

The bright side is that the damage appears confined to the bumpercover, so the rest of the detail wasn't in vain.

Since the replacement bumpercover will get painted off the vehicle anyhow, this should just basically be a remove & replace job as long as the shop doing the work understands that they can't mess up the rest of the vehicle (I'd consider babysitting it during the R&R process ;) ).

Wow really, the cops don't respond to an uninsured motorist that caused an accident ? Here they'd be driving code 3 to that kind of call, injuries or not.

I bet it matters that it happened on private property. Unless there's personal injury or extremely serious damage they don't respond to such stuff in my area either, unless it happens on a public street (where there will be a moving violation involved).

I talked with my insurance agent to make sure they had the claim. I should hear from an adjuster in then next couple of days.

Someone hit me. They don't have insurance, despite it being state law.

A vast amount of people, here in Deep South Texas, do not have insurance. The two counties here, Cameron & Hidalgo Counties, are the two poorest within the United States. I hate being behind people since they just do not pay attention. I also would rather walk a mile vs. finding a spot close to a store or something.

Sorry that your vehicle was hit.
