Newbie Question I know.

Here is the plan:

1.Magic Clay (Blue) w/ Dojo Born Slippery as lubricant.

2.KAIO as paint cleaner/prep

3.Opti-Seal for sealant.

4.Which wax should I use to go well with OS???

It's that time of the year I need a FULL Detail. I would much appreciate your kind opinions on this one. Are the items listed above do good with the others? And I need a good wax that would go well w/ OS. I got a Black Lexus non-metallic w/ clear coat. I want a Luxorious look. Deep dark, Wet, Glossy you know what I mean. Any inputs would be great. Thanks forum!

Opti-Seal - Do you guys prime the pad before using it? After that would you guy give another spritz to the pad or spritz a section of the panel and start apply the OS? Some people says spraying on a panel and work circular motion is better than spritzing on the pad. It causes less streaks True ?

Car has been polished a year ago. Not planning to do it againbut just maintaining it. Is it ok to put a glaze over OS? After curing times of course.

What is your favorite wax over OS? :)

I cant speak for the OS, since I have never used it, however, I recently winterized my wife's car with some new products. She has a black Hyundai Santa Fe; and the results were amazing. I used HD UNO followed with PO85rd, and then I used CG EZ creme glaze, sealed with Black Fire Wet Diamond. Then, there was some discussion on whether or not it needs to be topped with something. Anyway, I topped with CG Butter Wet Wax, and when I was done, it looked like the paint was wet with an amazing glossy finish. I never used any of these products before (except the HD UNO), but was very impressed with all of them.

if you're doing ur car up for the winter why not use klasse SG? I remember reading a while back that u had several coats on the lexus. Why the switch from klasse?

optimum car wax should be used after OS...

one question though, no polishing????

This.

Seriously, if you want to apply a wax over OS, I strongly recommend Optimum Car Wax. It is a spray, which makes it extremely easy to use, and it gives nothing less than superb results. It will help give the paint depth and make it super slick.

As for application of OS: I do *not* spray it directly on the paint. Prime the pad with 2 sprays to start, then 1 spray per panel as required for the rest of the car. Don't use too much, or you will get streaking.

I still got the KSG on my paint. It gives a plastic look that made me dislike later on. So what I did was I used poorboy black hole with natty blue wax. The result was amazing.

I don't want to use klasse again since I already know how or looks like. I have OS on my hand which I been waiting to use. It doesn't snow here btw. I'm getting lazy on the layering of ksg. Since OS is wowp thing I want to experience it.

So you guys don't have any streaking problems from spraying directly from the pad? This is going to be my first time using it so I want to beware about the product first.

Do any of you guys put a wax over OS?

Would putting a glaze kil the OS?

One spray per panel. Sounds too little doesn't it? Do you apply circular motion? The hood would need at least 2 sprays wouldn't it ?

Yes, the hood would most likely need more than one spray. You will have to use your best judgment. Try to use in good lighting that will let you see where you have applied so you can tell if you are getting the coverage you need.

I do use a circular motion, but that's just me.

i found klasse sg over kaio to have a very plasticy look to it too. i didnt really care for it either. your lucky it doesnt snow up where you live. here in delaware when we get an inch of snow they lay down an inch of salt ha. the roads are white with salt all winter after the first snow. havnt found anything that holds up on the sides of my car in the winter with my daily commute yet.

I think I'm going to do clay, kaio, then os only. Then a month later im going to use PBH and Natty blue again. Thanks guys.

Resurrecting this thread. Just want to post my experience with Opti-seal. So the deal was I clayed, kaio, then 2 coats of OS. The next morning I woke up I was drooling big time! Nothing but wetness! I was planning to put Natty's Blue, but I say forget it! OS gives that luxurious look that I've been wanting! Victory is mine! Finally found the treasure that I've been lurking for a Long Time!

BTW, OS is kinda hard to use. I had to use OID the next day. Oh and OID is Holy Grail SLICK! I don't think you could even lay a scratch on the paint with this QD. Great stuff! Must have! Thanks for reading.
