fuel drips

Hello, I recently bought an eco diesel ram truck for my wife, it currently has exp and nattys red on it. For some reason my wife has a hard time remembering to be cautious when filling the fuel tank and when she removes the nozzle gets a coupl of drops of fuel on the truck. Usually I quickly wash the truck after she does it. Is it safe to use quick detailer to remove the couple of drops of diesel or best to wash the truck like I have been? I`m almost ready to tell her to tell me when its low on fuel so I can fill it up myself and avoid the issue all together.

it should also have PWS under the EXP :P

but seriously...use gravity..its so easy.... just tilt the hose away when pulling it out...cant drip if it can`t drop

I tilt it down first to drop the fuel from the nozzle,,then lift out and away, keeping the nozzle rising up and away from where it goes in - pretty damn hard for a liquid in a tube to defy gravity :)

and I keep some water in my truck just in case I mess up ---

you can use QD..but the towel you use...don`t bring it near your paint after that,, and don`t use a good one,,don`t wash it with your other towels either

I agree on the gravity solution, I have shown her 4 times now how to remove the nozzle and not get diesel on the truck but I guess it`s a difficult process for some to grasp

I got 1/2 a feeling that the diesel will just dissolve the sealant as well.

Hit up Poorboy and ask

I would teach her how to use Spray and Wipe and give her a microfiber towel to use when filling the tank ... yeah you need some more wax, but give it a light polish first with PwS just make Brandt happy too ..

As far as teaching her to do it right :horse:

Obvious you`ve never been married. ;)

Eh, you guys....I`ve *never* had a woman, let alone my wife, continue to do anything unAutopian once it was explained to her. The usual response to that explanation is usually "oh sheesh, I should`ve realized that without being told". It`s the individual dog, not the breed (so to speak).

Sorry for the Threadjack, couldn`t resist as the women in my life have always been Golden when it comes to treating stuff properly. Any stuff, but especially anything that matters to me, let alone the vehicles.

I`ve explained why I take care of my cars to my wife way too many times. All I get in return is "no one else takes care of their cars". She just says it to make me mad.
