I wash my car regularly and most everything else looks great. The front bumber looks like I've been driving through sand blasting storms though. It has blemishes such as bugs which wont come off (even with bug removal spray and elbow grease) and a couple of chips all the way through the paint to the plastic (plastic bumper).
Anyway I read all through the paint polishing clinic found here: Car Automotive Paint Polishing How-to
and I'm wondering what I should do.
I want to fix all the chips in my front bumper but that wont do much good without all the bug juice off the front as well. Would polishing get all the bug guts off pretty well? I dont have a rotary or anything of that sort (I'm not experienced enough), so would hand polishing be ok for the whole front bumber? Or would that be a huge pain?
I'm thinking of trying to fix those chips with the scratch guide in the middle of the aformentioned article. Do the methods spelled out do a very good job at very mine chips?
Also one more question. Do I need to use a primer if the bumber is made of plastic? The chip is all the way to the plastic.
Thanks for any help guys.
