From one newbie to the others

Tonight I just finished my real "full" exterior detail on my crew cab Tundra. All my stuff came in and I was just itching to get it started.

Full wash, 2 buckets of course and the foam gun. All the nooks and cranny's.
Then came the clay...I almost did not do the clay 'cause I THOUGHT it was not necessary, but WOW! Lesson learned: listen to the people on this forum who know what they are talking about.

Next was the first of the Klasse twins and the pc. It's kind of a big truck, and halfway through my arm was getting pretty tired. Oh yeah! I think I read here about a hundred times to pick the right pad and let the machine do the work (edge pads by the way...awesome) Lesson learned: listen to the people on this forum who know what they are talking about.

Klasse Sealant. Ummm, I am one of those idiots who always thinks more is better, like when spraying weeds I always mix the killer about triple strength, or fertilize at double rate, or get the giant jar of pickles from Sam's Club and it's still 3/4 full after 2 years... So I really pour on the Klasse Sealant and spin away with the PC. This of course resulted in a bunch of time trying to get the heavy dried on film off the paint. It was not fun at all. Then the light bulb went off and I remembered reading here in more than one place that you use Klasse VERY sparingly. Of course I ordered the big bottle, so I can hand it down to my grandkids someday. Lesson learned.

Listen to the pros on these forums and take their hard earned tips. I'm waiting in my garage with PC in hand if anyone wants to come and play this weekend!

Been there!! Done that!! Welcome to the club.

I am glad to see that someone else is admitting to the same mistakes that I have made when first starting out detailing a few years ago.

Are you not from Iowa? If your Norweigian, like I am, I guess that I cannot hold that against you wither. LOL!!!
