My favorite is the deer head in the back corner, which is probably the only place the better half would let it be mounted ... :P

Grabber Blue is my favorite color on the new Mustangs. Is that one of the new 5.0s?

Sounds like a love hate relationship if that Mustang is stomping all over that Camaro like I think it should?

Hard to tell from the pic, but that Z doesn't appear to be stock....then again the 'Stang might not be either ;)

I'm a Ford fan through and through, but I have a lot of respect for anything that is fast. You often can't tell just by looking at them which is going to win. My friend had an older Z28 that honestly looked like a V6 that somebody had put ZR1 wheels on. It sat kind of high (drag suspension), had no tailpipes (dumps), and was debadged. Of course, as soon as it was started up it was pretty apparent that you should think twice before messing with it. It was powered by a built 383 that made a little over 500rwhp N/A, and then had a 200 shot on top of that. From behind it looked a lot like the one in that garage pic, just no Z28 badges.

The moral of the story is: ... ? fast cars are cool :D

It's gonna need to be more than stock to even keep up with a new 5.0.

David Fermani- Now you stop mentioning that new motor! I keep thinking about how that new 5 liter modular would be such an easy swap into the Crown Vic; AFAIK everything would fit just fine, even the blower could just switch over. Maybe I'll find one cheap after people start, uhm..learning the limits of their driving ability.

Yeah, sure. An easy swap.....you keep on thinking that. :juggle: You should know that transplants are never all that cut and dry anymore. Everyone I've been involved with looked great on paper, but usually turn out to be both a headache and money pit. Let's see, Chevy motor in 911 Porsche, 3800 Supercharged motor in Century & Montana van, Grand National motor in Caddy Fleetwood & Monte Carlo SS, Cylone motor in Bravada.....All nightmares!!

Heh heh, you sound like my wife discussing that car, right down to the term "money pit" :o

If I ever try it, we can do the "well, I'll be damned"/"I told ya so" thing, no bets on which of us says which! :grinno: :chuckle:

It's a mod motor, bolts to mod motor mounts, bolts to any mod motor tranny. Ford sells a crate motor $6000, and control pak ECU $1500, for it. There are various places coming out with brackets to fit older mustang accessories to the engine (A/C, PS pump, altenator). The remaining issues are headers that clear (can always have custom ones built), and the oil pan may or may not clear the k-member in the crown vic. All in all, swapping it into a crown vic is not what I would call an 'impossible' job. If you told me you swapped it into a Focus I'd be a lot more impressed :P.

500" Caddy engines into 78-82 Malibus is a popular swap. Apparently relatively easy and even pretty much stock, they can run low 14s/high 13s. Doesn't take much to get them into the 12s.

JoeRacer- That's the way I was thinking, and if/when I grenade the stock 4.6 I really am gonna check it out as the basis for a boost-friendly stroker.

Scottwax- Yeah, people successfully drop Caddy engines into all sorts of stuff, have been since their first OHV V8s.
