My mate brought his car round for a really good detail, the car is generally well looked after but it done a fair few motorway miles and the paint needed some TLC. The weather forecast didn’t look good but it was sunny so decided to tackle it.

Firstly washed the excess dirt off with hose, and used two bucket method with turtle car wash. Used wheel brightener on the wheels and then dried with pakshak WW towels.

I then removed the mats hovered up excess dust & muck, shampooed, tried APC but went for 1001 carpet cleaner as the chosen product. The paint work was fairly rough but didn’t want to use clay as it was very cold.

This car parking scuff would need some work.

Out came the PC as there was a fair amount of marring and surface scratches, Used 4” spot pad (orange pad) and IP dampened pad with megs quick detailer and taped half the wing to do a test. Left hand side done with 2 passes. The paint work was really nice to work with.

The results where very good but I did find the product to dry fairly fast compared to SSR2.5. All wiped off with pakshak MF.

After we did the entire car we then did a quick going over with Megs #80 with 4” white pad buffed off with pakshak MF.

We then applied Nattys blue to the whole car and buffed off with pakshak ultra plush towel, and tried OCW on the Roof.

I then did the exhaust with auto sol and buffed with terry towel. And did hovered the inside, dressed with poorboys natural trim and some quick detail spray.

Then put a cote of EX-p on the wheels and did the tyres in Megs endurance gel and did the mudgaurds with AG rubber care.

That was it all done, it took me & my mate 6 1/2hrs work and only got snowed on twice! We were both very happy with the end result.

A well deserved pat on the back. The vehicle looks excellent. Nice and shiny!!

The parking paint transfer scuff apparently came out, correct? I am looking but I do not have a good view.

The back end of the vehicle was awful gritty looking from the pictures. Cleaned up very nicely.

Did an outstanding job on those wheels. From close perusal it appears very nice. Do you have a special tool to get in between the spokes and back into the wheel to get them clean?

Cheers for your comment.

The Scuff did come out with a few hard passes with the IP & 4" pad, there was a little mark left but that was due to the scratch going below the clear cote.

I just use Megs wheel brush to get to the back of the alloy and a old sponge.

The car was just covered in grit & salt. But it did come up well. One more day and it would be how i would like it.

Great job on the detail! That's one impressive turnaround. I'm sure your friend was pretty happy with the results.
