Frequency of ZFX?

I know it can be used between every coat, but that seems like overkill. I know you can apply up to 3 layers back to back in a 24 hour period. But how often should you throw some ZFX into the mix? I'm talking time wise. I know Sal recommends no more than 10 coats before adding ZFX to an application.

I know he recommended using Z1 once every 6 months on a daily driver. Is it the same rule for ZFX, assuming you don't go over 10 coats?

As stated above and I also use ZFX if I add a coat to one of my infrequently garaged vehicles when I believe that it will rain within 24 hrs after application. Probably not necessary but I feel better knowing the "just applied" layer is almost fully cured prior in any water insults. :D

If you live in a harsh environment (i.e acid rain) and vehicle is garaged outdoors I would ZFX after 3 months horizontal areas (hood, top and trunk) and also front end (constantly assaulted when driving). These areas seem to extract a heavy load on protectant longevity. :idea

Thanks guys. My car is a daily driver but garaged every night. I'm just having a hard time understanding how Zaino bonds at all without the ZFX added every time. It "activates" the polish according to Sal's instructions. Are the other non-ZFX'd layers not forming as tight of a bond as those with ZFX? Does the ZFX added in previous layers somehow interact with newly applied layers?

well one possibility is that the initial layer with ZFX needs to bond to the paint surface then the additional layers simply bond (or possibly due to solvent content melt) (in)to the previous layer of Z2Pro.

ZFX is a bond accelerator and works as a catalysis to speed up the curing of the Z polishes. Catalysis are not involved in the chemical reaction (Bond formation) and are not required for the reaction (bond formation) to occur.

ZFX must have some Z1-type activity because it is required for the initial layer and after 5-10 layers. Just like Z1, ZFX is not required for every application for the Zaino polishes to bond.

Thank you!

Maybe I am a nut...I take that back...I AM a nut! But seriously, I used ZFX every time I apply Zaino.

My routine (for my daily drivers) is that each time I Zaino...I apply two ZFX'd coats. Maybe three on the hood.

The Viper, which is garaged 24-7 and only out for nice days, gets a similar routine but not as often. I guess I just can't see the benefit of going to the effort and only putting on one coat. I think Zaino lasts longer if it is mixed with ZFX, but maybe that's just wishful thinking.

I can report that my vehicles are looking better longer since adopting a new procedure. I know use a CR Spotless system and once the car dries I apply a coat of Z8.

You are not crazy. I also use ZFX 90% of the time. Even when applying just one coat.

Maybe I am crazy.

I know I am crazy about Zaino's performance (looks and durability). :dance
