Free 2 year subscription to Motor Trend

This probably won't last long so sign up before it's gone, but I found this deal over at Spoofee.com and thought some of you might enjoy it. Copy the link (do not include the url= part) and paste into your browser.

Like with any free magazine link I post, it's not always guaranteed that you will get it. BUT, freebizmag is one of the more reliable sources for free subscriptions. In fact, I always get their free subscriptions way sooner than subscriptions I actually pay for.

EDIT: As a tip, for whatever magazine I'm signing up for, I'll make up whatever industry/field/job that's related to the publication you're signing up for. Your application will be more likely to be accepted by the publisher.

Signed up for one, but not entirely hopeful to get a subscription. I chose a "job" that is automotive related (just to get the mag), but I think what will kill it is the "business address" you have to send to them. They will cross reference it I'm sure and see that it isn't related to the job I gave and that will DQ me. :( I guess I can just hope!

It's never guaranteed 100%, but I use the same, fake, "business" address a.k.a. my home address. Maybe it's because I've used the same name and address for years now that it shows up in their system as such, I don't know? They really don't do as much verification as you think they do. If anything, I think a limited availability is more likely to be the reason you'd be turned down for an offer.

Whenever I sign up for these offers, I never expect to get it. If I wanted a cheap, definite subscription I'd just find a cheap deal like on eBay or something. So it's always nice when one day out of the blue that magazine deal you thought you would never score actually shows up in your mailbox.

And FWIW, I used to get Motor Trend for free also in the past by signing up for one of these deals so there's a pretty good chance we actually might be getting this one. It usually tends to be the same publications that are being given away for free. For example, it's been years since I've seen a legitimate offer for Time and I've never seen one for NatGeo. The Spoofee, Fatwallet, and Autopia effect might cause more people to apply than normal, which probably lessens our chances, but that is how I always find out about these deals anyway.

All I'm saying folks is that it's worth a shot! This isn't some scam to steal your personal identity. If you're really paranoid, make up a name, create a spam email address, come up with a fake business name and address. If they require you to input a credit card number, then run away because that's a good indicator that it's not legit. A magazine company doesn't require your credit card info whatsoever to send you a subscription.

I just found some nissan dealership near my house and made that the business address and phone. Then I told them to send the mags to my house address.

So while checking the status of another magazine I actually PAID for MONTHS ago, I decided to check motor trend's subscriber services just to see if any info had been submitted on my behalf. To my amazement, it looks like my subscription was placed on Jun 12, 2008 for 24 months, with an expiration date of 7/2010 and $0.00 due. That means I should be getting my first issue any time now. I don't get why magazines I order and pay for take months to arrive while the free ones just take weeks???

Anyway, I hope some of you guys were as lucky. To check on your status, go to this website:

Thanks for the link! Here is the message I am getting:

"Our records show that your last order was placed on Jun. 12, 2008 for 24 issues. Your expiration date is ISS#07 2010 and your balance due is $.00."

Woot!! Hope I get this after all!!!
