Four Star UPP (the forgotten sealant?)

I recently picked up some Four Star UPP sealant (polycharged version) since I wanted to compare it to the older version. I have always been a fan of UPP. It was one one of the first sealants I started using years ago after Klasse SG. It is probably one of the slickest sealants I have used. It is so easy to remove and put on. Durability is pretty decent.

I have tried Polycharging the older version with great success and thought it was time to try the new version with the Polycharger already added. I applied it with a blue Sonus pad via PC and let it cure for about 30 mins. Removal was outstanding. I swear I could have blow it off the surface. The sealant is such a pleasure to work with and looks awesome.

I love revisting old products that you forget about. Granted UPP is not the sealant flavor of the month like BFWD or Menzerna Power Lock but it still can hold it's own :rockon

Have not tried the newer formulation, but agree with your observation regarding the "slickness" of the resulting finish. Unfortunately that feeling of slickness fell over rather quickly, but I never thought that was related to any remaining protection value. I'll bet I've still got some of the old formula lying about. I need to pull it out and revisit the product (and make sure the product is still viable).

I use UPP about once a week these days on clients vehicles. I really like it as well.

The durability is wonderful and it would be hard to find a product that leaves the finish feeling slicker.

I can't add any more. I've always felt it left the slickest finish I've any product I've used. I felt the older product perhaps didn't have quite the longevity as some of the other products I had in my arsenal. That said, the truth is I never really get to the to test a product's longevity anyway.

My father now 80 years young swears to this day that this sealant is the reason he was able to sell a vehicle at a moments notice. I was laid up at the time he needed a vehicle detailed to get top dollar out of it. I had used UPP on his vehicle a couple of months earlier. He doesn't consider himself to be a great detailer but tells the story of taking it to the wand wash and just watching the car dry itself. He's a believer. I very much like UPP.

Thanks Pat for the review on the new version, it will last about 3 months or longer from Four Star.

I agree Mark. The longevity of the older version wasn't that great. Then agin if you aren't putting something on your car every month you shouldn't be here :D

Four Star makes some great products, they might not be the hot thing right now but they always work great!

I don't think I've ever tried any of their products. I'll have to try some out once I run out of my currant supply

Just for kicks, since I don't have anything else charcoal or silver, I added some to my bicycle, and wow, it does make those colors pop. UPP is staple LSP in my arsenal!
