"Forum Favorite" on Autogeek

Hey guys,

I've been pondering for a while, the brands of polish and wax I will want to use on my two cars that we have: a white 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer and a black 2005 Nissan Armada. I found this "Forum Favorite" kit at Autogeek and seems like it will work rather well. It consists of Klasses AIO, Klasse SG, Pinnacle Souveran, Pinnacle Crystal Mist, and some applicator pads.

I plan on purchasing the PC 7336 at Lowe's soon, as was wondering if the Klasses products can be applied by the PC. If so, which pads should I use, and at what speed? I've pretty much figured out that the Pinnacle should be applied by hand only, but correct me if I am wrong. Thanks for your help guys, as I am new to this level of detailing!

ive seen that but never payed any attention to it. i know why they would pick it as the forum favorite. its an awesome combo. aio to properly clean the surface, its one of the best chemical cleaners out there. sg for long time durabilty. once coat of sg should last u atleast 2-3 month. multiple coats should increase that heavily. and souveran as a topper. i guess souveran can be used to help with durabilty. but i think it would mainly be used once a month for cosmetic purposes only.

i would only apply aio by pc. sg in my opinion is best appliedwowo method by hand. if souveran is liquid. apply it either way. if its paste id apply it by pc. although some members have found that using a butter knife to spread the paste on thepad works well.

As far as the AIO goes, what does it do for minor surface scratches? Does it do anything for this, or should I use something like Pinnacle's SMR before applying the AIO?

Thanks for your help, but one question. As far as the Souveran goes, is there a way to "pop" it out of the jar to rub it on the pad? In any event, what pad would I use to apply it?

To remove the wax from the tub, Flip it over so the cover is in your hand and jsut give it a few good taps and lift the bottom off. It should come out quite easily. To apply it use a finishing pad on a low speed pc. You can also do it by hand. I apply all waxes by pc. It is just much faster and i can get thin coats that way.

TooTall, Hey your last name isn't Jones, is it? :)

I may be in the minority, but I get nice results applying AIO by hand. I apply 2 coats back to back using a damp MF applicator and then removing. I will add that the vehicles I use this method on are not highly oxidized.

Before you go the Klasse SG route, be sure and do plenty of reading. There are two distinct camps. One camp which finds SG finicky and prone to odd hazing and the second which thinks it is a very user friendly product. Only you can decide in which camp you reside. I don't use SG as there a serverl LSPs which I enjoy using which are both effective and easy to use.

Thanks for the heads up on the SG. I'm kinda thinking I will just use all Pinnacle products....and since I'm a newb at this stuff...it seems pretty user friendly. (Telling users at what speed to use the SMR's at, and with what pads, etc.)

I tried SG after AIO. I like to never got some of the SG removed. I later found this happens all too often. Maybe because I am a rookie the SG was so difficult to remove. I do like the results of the AIO.

I would recomend the Detail City Kit over at PAC instead. It comes with Klasse AIO and 4* UPP which is much more user friendly. It also includes some waffle weaves and MF towels. I think it also comes with 4* UGE.

I plan on getting this kit soon.

I don't yet have my Propel pads (note to self...get that order in now), but I believe that the Blue pad is the correct pad for AIO and like products. From my understanding, you won't get much correction from this pad, but I assume since you are using AIO you don't need much.

I run my PC in the 3-4 range to get my product spread, and then crank it up. For polishes and paint cleaners I normally don't run the PC under 5 for long. You will have to get the feel of the machine and you'll figure it out on your own.
