Ford F-150 HD Saleen & 68 Chevy P/U

Clean Dean

Keep it clean !!!
Raining in NJ today, did some indoor detailing…

I detailed this 2008 Ford F-150 Harley Davidson Saleen P/U. Obviously not a full detail (truck is new), but it was ran through a few automatic washes and the black finish showed some light damage. Few swirls and light scratches here and there, but nothing 3M Ultrafina couldn’t take out. Sealed with Meguiars #21.

This 68 Chevy P/U was a fairly recent frame off resto-rod , and I last detail her last summer. The single stage paint was a pleasure to work with. I used Hi Temps heavy cut leveler with a green Edge pad at @ 2200 to 2500 rpms. Finished with 3M Ultrafina (white Edge pad) and sealed with #21. The interior is simple vinyl, and really goes well with this type of truck from this era. All exterior chrome was gone over with Speedy metal polish and a MF towel.

Sorry about pics being tight. It was raining all morning here in NJ.

Saleen does do trucks, but if I'm not mistaken that's just a Harley Davidson F-150 with a Saleen supercharger that the owner installed

I would have to agree with Sonic that it is a Harley Truck with an added Saleen Supercharger...both cam out awesome though...great job.

awesome job on both pickups my friend! I have a question for you when your runnin 2,200rpms on the rotary on single stage paint do you have to move much faster but make more passes over the paint to completely break down the polish?

Actually the Harley trucks have always had a supercharger. It was always a little smaller, hp wise, than the Lightening but it always had a SC on it. I think now that Ford does not make the Lightening anymore they turned to Roush and Saleen for all their performance parts.

I really like the 68 but the classic color combo just seems odd with the new "high-tech" wheels. Doesn't flow right with me.

Great work on both details...the clearity of that Teal is amazing! Good Job!!!

If I remember the first 2001 HD had no supercharger. I think it started in 2002.

Very sweet trucks, I love the 68...

2003 was the last year they put S/C on trucks out side of the lightining, which went to 2004.

2004 1/2 was the new body style intro. No S/C on the new ones. Not available from Ford. So that one is an add on.

They haven't made a F150 with a S/C on it since 2004..

Looked right now on my Parts Selling Program here at work!!
