Ford C-Max and Tesla Model S with Opti-Coat

2013 Ford C-Max. Owner contacted me a few weeks back about getting his Ford C-Max and Subaru BRZ protected with Opti-Coat. Since the BRZ was back at the dealer for some warranty work (apparently its been a regular thing since he bought it) it wasn't available until this past weekend. To save drive time, we set up both cars on the same day. While the BRZ did have some marring and light swirls, the C-Max was in excellent shape.

Ended up not getting any pictures of the BRZ, he'd already put it in the garage and closed the door, then my digital camera's batteries died after taking 5 pictures of the C-Max so you'll just have to visualize a pearl Subaru BRZ. ;)

2013 Tesla Model S. Owner emailed me almost a month ago about the upcoming delivery of his Tesla so we set a date of this coming Friday (supposed to be today, actually). He notified me the middle of last week his car would be in a week ahead of schedule and if at all possible, he'd like me to work it in ASAP so the paint would be properly protected right away. I had just enough of a gap to take care of his car yesterday...assuming it wasn't prepped by anyone along the way. When we met up, I looked over the car and other than one small area of marring by the right C pillar, the paint looked really good. Glad it worked out it was in more than good enough shape that I wouldn't have had to come back out this afternoon and finish it up.

I really like how the Tesla looks in metallic white, goes well with the darkened glass roof.

Great work Scott. I have been seen a lot of Teslas in Florida lately as well, beautiful cars to look at it and they look really cool on the inside as well. I think they look way better than the Fisker Karma in my opinion. I think that's why they are outselling them big time.

Nice work as always guys! The "C" pops! I still see Ford is all about quantity and not quality, doesn't surprise me. The pictures don't give the Tesla justice. Like you said the depth of the metallic white is nice!

Thanks! As far as Tesla vs Fisker goes, the biggest problem with the Fisker (besides them catching on fire) is the performance doesn't match the looks and the interior is small given how large the car is. The Fisker paint is really good (I've Opti-Coated one) and instead of metallic flake, its crushed glass.

The Tesla is faster, handles better and has more interior room. Range isn't as great since the Fisker can switch over to its gas engine but 240-280 miles range for a full electric is more than enough for most people.

Thanks Tim. Honestly, the C-Max really isn't a bad vehicle other than the excessive badging. But that's the typical hybrid crowd, they want to be noticed so everyone knows how much they love mother earth.

Agree on the Tesla, so far, this is my favorite color on it.

Great job Scott! I've got to do a Tesla next Saturday for Opti-Coat sight unseen. I'm hoping no dealer induced horror will be found. Any hints for if the paint is soft or hard on these rides?
