Folex/Oxi Clean/Vapor steamer/Shop Vac

So I have read a countless number of threads on things like this, but just haven't found exactly what to do.

What I was thinking was something like this. Any suggestions.

Steps:

1. Vacuum

1.1 Vacuum

1.2 Vacuum

2. Spot Treat Folex

3. Agitate lightly

4. Pre-Condition(Oxi Clean)

5. Agitate lightly

6. Steam (Agitate again?)

7. Wet/Dry Vac

8. Spray hot water

9. Wet/Dry Vac

10. (repeat 8&9 as Needed)

When I'm brushing the stuff around should I use no pressure, little pressure, or firm pressure?

I'm also looking to do a couch at the same time, there are not really any stains I would just like to clean it before I take it up to school. Would the procedure above cover that as well?

When you say "agitate lightly", don't underestimate the amount of scrubbing necessary get stubborn stains out of automotive carpet. They're usually pretty tough. I'd go at it pretty hard.

I've brought some pretty funky carpets back to life using those brush attachments for the PC buffer. I would spray them with carpet cleaner (i don't remember which one) pretty liberally and let it soak in. Then I would blast them with a healthy dose of steam. That should break down any dirt and stains that are coming out. then I would use the buffer to scrub the hell out of them and then follow with the shop vac until they were dry and fluffy again. It was a ton of work, but the carpets came out awesome.

Thanks for the reply, yea I meant just agitate after spot cleaner. I meant to just put agitate lightly for the rest of the carpet that was still in good shape. How much steam did you use for this? and did you spray it straight on or wrap a towel?

Thanks again.

According to Grouse who is somewhat of a carpet cleaning master, you only want to work a carpet cleaner lighly into the fibers. If you want to read some great carpet cleaning tips, do an advanced search on "grouse" and "carpet"

Oh yes I'm very aware of his posts. They are so infomative. That's where I got most of my direction from. I will be purchasing some Biokleen TLC when I get a chance.
