Folex and Shop Vac

Hi guys,

I'd like to clean my mats with the Folex I purchased today. I plan on using my new shop vac as well.

How do I dillute the product for general carpet cleaning? I'll probably use a brush to agitate and just extract with the shop vac.

Any advice?

Thanks!!

I've only used it as a full-strength spotter, but this information from the Folex web site may add some insights and suggestions for mixing.

If you are using a machine with a mixing tank: mix 1 part FOLEX with 4 to 6 parts warm water. The softer your water is, the better your results will be.

Do not use hot water when cleaning your carpet, as excessive heat can set stains.

You should pre-treat heavily soiled areas with full strength FOLEX, agitating the FOLEX into stained areas, just prior to using the machine.

FOLEX is not a soap, so you do not need to add a defoamer.

FOLEX will not leave a sticky residue, so you do not have to rinse.

FOLEX is not a solvent, so your carpet backing will not be damaged.

FOLEX is “Non-Ionic, so it will not attract dirt back to the cleaned area.

FOLEX is “Non-Toxic, so your newly cleaned carpet is safe for your children and pets.

Let us know what you end up doing and how it works for general carpet cleaning.

folex is a spot remover, just use woolite and water for your general. I use folex instructions for stains: soak. wait, blot. then I fill up my poor man's extractor (LGM) with hot water and make a couple passes. Always looks fantastic unless the stain is dye. BTW I am really impressed with how soft the Woolite and water 10:1 leaves the carpet afterward.

I use Folex with spots but not dilluted. I just spray a good amount on the area to be treated and let sit for a while and then blot with a rag. I go over with the shop vac later. To clean carpets with out a carpet extractor I use ZEP High Traffic Cleaner. It works great and does a very good job of removing odors. That I don't dillute either, I just spray a good amount of that also on the carpet and use a brush to rub it in with and then take a rag to wipe up. Then use the shop vac. I used that with Folex (and Folex on the headliner) to clean and it also removed cigerette smell from vehicle. Odor or not, I would use the ZEP HTC to clean the carpets and mats and Folex to remove stains.
