Chadwick's Auto Detailing
I sometimes hear people talking about foggers for their cars to get odors out. Can someone tell me who's to use and how it works, and where to get one? Thanks in advance for your help!

Your talking about a aresol can that is for foggying the inside of the car for pet and smoke oders. You can get them on line. Read the can it tells you how they work. I've never used one but read a bit about them

I have seen a machine that somehow heats the aerosol or liquid to very high temperature, they say that it is the most effective way. I have used can based ones, they work well for about 3 days then the odor returns if it is bad. Best way, from what I understand, cannot practice on cars at work due to time BS, is to either deionize the car first or to use the fogger, THEN go about thoroughly cleaning the car. As I stated, I am not familiar with it, most cars of that nature we send to auction.......:dunno

I haven't used any foggers yet. What I have found works well in eliminating ordors is: Vacuum Completly. A solution of warm water and woolite or Delicare for clothes and was the complete interior top to bottom. If the seats are leather I clean and condition. IF Fabric I hit them with some spray foam carpet cleaner ( I like Resolve) as well as on the carpet and work it in with a carpet brush or similar. I use my PC with a carpet brush and it works wonderfully. Blott up the heavily soiled areas with a terry cloth towel and let the rest dry. Vaccum the entire inside again. Spray with Fabreeze or other Auto Odor removal spray. I use both Fabreeze and Meg's Odor Remover. This seems to do the trick without have to resort to steam cleaners and heavy solutions.

Hey Membin.

I have one of the Electro Gen odor foggers.I do not work as a detailer so I have used it on our family cars (bad smoke and wet dogs) a number of times. You add the counteractant chemical that works specifically with this unit, turn it on and it heats up and then spews out a mist or fog. It fills up the car pretty quick with the fog. After about 15-30 seconds the inside of the car looks like it should be in a Cheech and Chong movie. The fog gets into pretty much everything (Headliner, carpet etc...)

I have found this to work pretty well but..... It is never totally gone. sometimes on a hot day with the windows rolled up, I'll get in and can still get a hint of smoke smell. Mind you this is a few months later.

I was able to get the chemical locally, so I did not have to deal with shipping.
Let me know if there is anything I can answer for you.
