Foam Vs Wool

I noticed you have the same grades in foam as you do wool.. what makes one better then the rest? I love your foam but might be temped to try a wool polishing pad because of the nice work the black one does at cutting..

A few reasons why I don't use wool very often anymore:

-I have a hard time finding 7" wool 'polishing' pads.
Most of the wool pads that I see for sale have too much cut for my taste.

-Wool pad 'dust' tends covers everything in site. Once you learn how to control product sling, foam offers a much cleaner work environment.

-IMO, foam is easier to clean/spin dry vs. wool. Spurring out wool can be a PITA.

-I can readily spot any debris in a foam pad and ensure that I am working with a clean surface. It's easy to bury grit in a wool pad and swirl the he** out of your paint.

-Foam pad technology had improved significantly. At this point I feel very comfortable with LC 7.5" pads, and would hesitate to change a process that works well for me.

It could be the brand I was using of pad...can't remember which it was but after I was done, there were little pieces of wool fiber everywhere.

I started with wool but have since worked over to foam. I use the black wool pad for major cutting but it still doesn't see very much use. I switched to foam because of the amount of dust wool left and I could never seem to get a consistant cut/polish. With the foam pads I get little to no sling while working and I know where the pad is touching the paint, so I know that I'm doing a consistant polish over the whole car. After trying the Wave waffle pads I gained more control and ever since Aarom sent me the shorter rotary adapter I can say my skill has improved even more. I've actually put my wave's on the backburner so to speak, the only one I use is the blue pad, mostly for finishing on dark cars. I've had the same set of wool pads for about a year and they show very little use. I'm on my second yellow pad and my third blue/green pads, my current green polishing pad has about 8 details on one side and around 10 on the other, both sides are just starting to show wear
