Foam Gun Canister Size

Planning to purchase the Gilmour Foam Gun. Just curious which size canister would be good for an average sized car...Quart or Half Gallon.

What size canister to you have?

Thanks

Used my Gilmour Foam Gun for the first time last week on my own car (06 Civic). Just had enuf soap + water in my 1qt cannister to make it. Actually had a little left over. Did my cousin's Pilot SUV a few days later and had to refill 1 time. Could have used a 1/2gal cannister at this time.

Answer to your question. Have both available unless you don't mind re-filling in the middle of a wash on a larger vehicle.

I like the smaller one. Less chance that I'll bump the car with it when doing the horizontal surfaces.

Agreed. :bigups

I almost never have to refill my foam gun, but I've only got a midsized car.

sheesh.... am I doing this whole foam gun thing wrong then? I always go through between .5-1 gallon of solution per wash... how are you getting through the wash with only using 1 quart?

I would say a couple of reasons.

1. size of car

2. car wash soap being used

3. oz/qt (or oz/gal)

4. metering setting

5. water pressure of your H2O

6. how much foam soap are you distributing on your vehicle

Like I said earlier, a 1qt cannister with about 1/4-1/3 oz of soap per quart of NXT plus water, with very good water pressure and a meter setting on 2 or 3 does my Civic with a little to spare. Took me about 5 mins to foam my car and 5 mins to dwell then a rinse plus a wash with a sheepskin mitt rinsing often with a hose.

Mine it's BIG :bolt just like the other one :grinno:

Nah joke aside, I have the qtr one(64ozer). I hate go back and forth to refil.

Well, I'm using two of the quart size ones, so I can see using a half-gallon or more of solution. But I usually have plenty left over in each gun, even after the minivan (well, unless I accidentally dump it :o ).

I suspect I'm using the foamgun very differently from some people. There's just no way I could use the larger bottle with my method on the horizontal surfaces.
