Foam Cannon Method

So, I've been playing with my new foam gun over the past month or so and am wondering what everyone who has a proper foam gun/lance method for washing is:

A) Cover entire car with foam and wash in one pass

B) Cover each panel with foam and wash, rinse, move on

C) Other?

Right now I'm foaming each side of my car, washing, rinsing and then moving on but it seems to be taking a lot of my time up. I wish I could just possibly foam the entire car and begin to wash but I'm not so sure what the sun will do to the soap sitting on the car for that long.

Most of the time I'll pre-rinse, then foam to help take off loose contaminants, then rinse, then begin the regular wash via two-bucket method. If I'm doing an in depth detail I'll foam a panel and use a Swissvax wheel brush or other soft brush to agitate. For instance, if I foam the front end, I'll foam it, then agitate the grill, emblems, etc with the brush to get all the crevices, then I'll rinse. After that I'll do what I previously mentioned.

Do you have a foam gun or cannon?

I use my foam cannon in this order:

1. Foam let dwell

2. High pressure rinse

3. Re-foam

4. Use sea sponge and agitate also having a rinse bucket

5. High pressure rinse or sheet water depending on lsp condition

I am able to do the car before the foam dissipates and my rinse bucket has little dirt in it because of the presoak. If the foam wouldn't stay long enough I would simply put some soap in my bucket or use 2 buckets.

If I had a foam gun (no pressure washer) I would do each panel at a time since the foam doesn't cling nearly as well.

I have a foam cannon attached to a pressure washer.

I really wanted to foam the entire car but even today when doing panel by panel the car was drying up by the time I'd get to the other side, meaning basically after every panel I'd have to go and "mist" the car with the pressure washer nozzle just so I don't get spots.

I wish I had some shade then I'd be able to foam the entire car IMO.

I rinse off the car with a soft stream of water, followed by foaming the entire car. I then take my mitt out of the wash bucket and foam directly ahead of where I'm using the mitt.

After the entire car has been wiped with the mitt, I rinse over and over with my CR Spotless.

Park the car in the garage and come out later to a perfectly washed vehicle. NO SPOTS and no wipe-induced swirls.

I sell this stuff.

Use high pressure to blast off loose impediments & gross filth.

Use a good quality nuetral ph or buffered car wash soap in a foamer.

let it sit for 5-10 minutes then hit it with your wash mitt & bucket/solution.

rinse & have at er.

Tips are

dont use more solution then rcommended unless you have very hard water.

Longer dwell time=let the chemical do the work.

I really need to pickup some CW&G as my Megs Gold Class is ok but nothing spectacular when it comes to foaming.

Letting the chemical do the work really helps. Unfortunately, many car soaps are nothing more than foaming lubricants, with no appreciable chemical cleaning; they just lube the surface for your wash media to do the work.

CG's CW&G is one of the few that actually do real chemical cleaning.

I've never had a problem with it stripping wax, and I've been using it this way for over two years now. :)

Caveat: if you use a wash media, you must be careful about following the mixing directions or you could strip wax. Touchless is no problem, though.

Is it OK if I use CG CW&G with a foam gun, then PB SSS by hand?

Looking to invest in a foam gun since it seems to make the washing part of a detail much easier.
