FMJ or Wolfgang Sealant?

I am about to detail my 740i for BimmerFest West and was thinking about using FMJ. I have not seen too many posts and or pics regariding FMJ! :nixweiss

If anyone out there has any feedback on FMJ, (Anthony, have you tried FMJ yet?), please let me know! :)

If I dont have any feedback on FMJ, I will probably try Wolfgang sealant.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

I think only Anthony and a few others have used FMJ. Several have used Wolfgang and other than some having minor issues with the pre-cleaner, reviews have been excellent.

I have a feeling the Wolfgang twins topped with #16 would look outstanding on your car.

Scott,

Thanks for the quick reply! :D

Do you think that WG + #16 will be a better than NXT + #16? The ultimate look is more important than how long the combo lasts! :xyxthumbs

Let me know.

Cheers,

I agree with Scott the Wolfgang is a winner and would look great on your black 740. I just used the wolf on a Laguna Seca Blue M3 and the car looks very wet.

detailbarn,

I now have a 2001 740i Sport in Titanium Silver Metallic. Here is a pic.

Let me know if you think I still should go for WG?

Cheers,

yup even more with the silver , my personal truck is a 2001 Lunar Mist Tacoma and Wolfgang made the metallic pop out more than anything I've used and it looks wet even on the silver.

I may be interested in trying this after i get a few more coats of WG on my car. Do you think i should? #16 should be better then s100?

Mantic6t9,

I would give #16 a shot! :xyxthumbs

To me #16 seems to leave a very liquid, very wet finish to the paint. Here is a pic of NXT x 2 topped with #16.

I just got the New Menzerna Kit and its the best products i have now for my Silver 01 Accord. And i have pretty much everything discussed on this webpage excent zaino. Im goin to put a second coat of FMJ on tomorrow but just one coat makes the car glow, and it makes a super deep slippery finish .Its supreme on silver and since you have a silver beemer the new menzera triplets are for you.

Hey, sorry i havent responded sooner. I have no digital camera to take pix with. But im just amazed at the menzera triplets. That is definatly what id use on your silver beemer. You wont be dissapointed

I've tried FMJspecifically to compare it with WG. Something about the texture was kind of wierd. It wasn't as slick of a finish as WG and the water beading wasn't as good. Both cars look nice, but side by side the WG has a much deeper, wetter shine that's very impressive.

speedracer,

I have decided to go with the WG twins and they should arrive today! I hope to get in a polish with my PC, followed by the Wolfgang Pre-Wax Polish Enhancer, and at least a couple layers of the Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant by Sunday. I will try to post pics as I finish. Depending on how it looks I may or may not top with #16.

Thanks for the feedback guys!

Cheers,

Hello, just to let you know, the FMJ sheets water, to prevent water spots. It says so on CMA website. Thats why WG beads better. I did my dads black mustang with WG, and it really is a close call, but i think FMJ is better. I will have to try FMJ on the black car and the WG on the silver car to tell how they look on opposite colors (light and dark).

Haven't tried the WG with #16, but I've read that its a very good combo. However, I did top WG with Pinnacle Signature Series (it's made specifically for metallics, or so they say) on a silver. Drop dead gorgeous!

Well I bought both the WG twins and the FMJ and the new Menzerna glaze too.

Instead of deciding on one, buy both :D ;)

Who knows, maybe the Menzerna glaze topped with the WG sealant is the winner!

both productar are very good my 2cents:mezerna attracts less dust . but i may use the wolf spray.

I can't speak for Wolfgang, but I use the Menzerna Glaze with FMJ layered on top with excellent results. It's super slick, goes on easy and comes off even easier. Honestly I could care less about water beading because the car rarely sees rain (about 10 times in 5 years).
