Flying with products

I'm flying down to Florida tomorrow am to visit a friend, and we figured we'd do a couple of his cars while I'm there. I packed a small duffel to take on the plane, with a PC some pads and various polishes & waxes. Do you think they'll give me a hard time at the airport with the products, since several of them contain solvents , distillates etc., and that they may claim they're flammable?

Trust me, they won't like the products.

Don't even think about carrying a clay bar on either (ask me how I know.....)

You'll be much better off buying products there.

I hate flying and I hate airliners more than anything. I grew up flying all the time too as my mother worked for one. Ridiculous safety measures when they ignore the worst problems because its too hard to enforce.

Did they think the clay bar was C4 or something?

You are much better off shipping the whole bag via ups or some other carrier...they will bust your balls over anything out of the norm.

I routinly fly with motion picture and video equipt and when i am flying commerical I hate it so much that I usually send the stuff ahead via cargo carrier and insure the hell out of it and gettign cans of film thru is always a picnic as they do not uderstyand why I will nto allow them to open it

don't risk having to dispose of anything at a security checkpoint. Ship what you will need, or purchase it in Fl. if possible.

Sorry, not much we can do about it.

;)

:lol I could just imagine a TSA guy's face when he sees a piece of clay wrapped in plastic. Don't try hiding it in your shoe! :rofl

I bet you could get away with a polish and sealant in little shampoo bottles.

Well, it does kinda look like C4.

They're just doing their job, although traveling weekly is a pain in the neck. I now take afternoon flights instead of early AM, and spend an extra night in a hotel.

Shipping liquids can be difficult - and don't even think of shipping any wheel cleaners via air - it's ground or nothing. Try to use the original bottles that (hopefully) have inner foil seals. Closures have a bad habit of opening during shipping.

I've flown with detailing chemicals, but did not carry on.

Just pack them well and check the bag through to your destination.

I agree with Holly Marie...Get to the security checkpoint just to have them take it from you? Ouch!
