Flyer advice

RoadRunner

Hi all! I came up with a rough draft flyer (very rough draft) and would like some pointers. Thanks in advance!

Wesley Downs

I can see what you mean by rough. Overall, very nice though. If you're saying we, sometimes it may imply that you have other employees, which I don't know if you do...just a thought. What is the application for these flyers, hand outs or what?

You also might want to go into a little more specific territory to convince people to go to you for detailing rather than just getting a $5 car wash and vacuum and their local drive thru. Maybe say that you use high quality, professional grade products or something.

Maybe a little more color or something. Since its only 1/4 of a sheet of paper, it is going to need to stand out a little. Those roadrunners may not show up very well at that size. How about something like this?

I accented some of the words that you might want to draw attention to. I was just playin around with it a little. I like the text that you have. It just needs a little pizzaz or something I think. Good start though. :bigups

WOW! thanks alot Jngrbrdman, I'm not very good with graphics, and not that creative any way. I really appreciate it, that looks great!

You need to be careful using 3d and shadowing on material that is going to be printed. It does not print like it shows on the screen

You should get your hands on a color wheel, or actually just use this link: click here
and make sure that your text color is opposite of what yhe color of your roadrunner bg image is. Basicly you shouldn't use purple text over a purple image.

Also make sure that the colors you are using are printer friendly. If you are just picking one of 256 million, there is a good chance that is isn't printable. You should stick to wither a safe pallet, or use the pantone pallets. hmmm..... I dont really have time to tap one out for you, but hopefully some of those suggestions will help. I will try and post some more later.

Well, I'm a law student and not an art major, so you'll have to forgive the unappealing asthetics of my work. I was just throwing something together and didn't really want to spend that much time on it. If I was being paid for the work then it would have been built a lot differently. I wasn't submitting that to him to print and use, I was just throwing it out there as a concept. I don't know that you would want to use a copyrighted image like that on a brochure anyway.

Photoshop CS is all I have to work with. Its a pretty dynamic program. Its got abilities that I'm sure I'll never be able to figure out. I like to play around with it now and then.

Personally I think that the flyer is great, and I really appreciate it.

If you would like, then I can tweak it a bit and make it presentable and send you a better copy with four on a page or something. If you have a good color printer then this looks really good printed out. If not then I can put the whole thing in a greyscale look and have it look good printed on black and white. Just let me know and I'll get it ready for you. :bigups

Jngrbrdman,
I'd really appreciate that, but I can't afford to pay anything right now. As far as the greyscale, color. which do you think will be more effective? If color are there places to do color copies? I have a color printer but it uses alot of ink and I don't know if it would be economical. I really appreciate this.

Wes

I wouldn't charge you for it. That would be spamming the forums if I offered to do it for money. ;) I live in daily fear of the axe, so I would just do it for you. Its not a complicated project that wouldn't take any time at all.

If you can do color, then I would do that. It seems that copy places charge a lot of money for that kind of thing. Weigh the cost at a printer place to what it would cost to just get an ink cartridge. Ink shouldn't cost more than 20 or 30 bucks for a cartridge. Add the cost of paper and it isn't really that expensive. Take that price and call Kinkos and ask them how much it will cost. If they have like a 2 or 3 color limit, then we can dumb it down to just a couple colors that are cheap to print. Just let me know what you want me to do and I'll get 'er done. :bigups I do think color would look better than black and white. I can make one for you in B&W if you want to compare. I'll have to wait till I get home from work this afternoon to do it.

I think the color flyer will be more effective, too. If you don't care to do the color and the grayscale, too, I'd really appreciate it. If you don't have time, the color will be fine.
Thanks,
Wes

I don't think there will be a problem with the logo just using it on a few flyers. Do ya'll?
