Hey again guys, for Thanksgiving this year, we headed down to Vero Beach FL to spend the holiday with my grandparents. It's basically tradition that I detail the Caddy each time I go down, and this time was no exception. It hadn't been washed except for the dealer once since its last detail, which was performed on 4/14/07, about 4,500 miles ago. At that time, I had done the following-
X-Mas 2006-
-Polish with the Hitachi and Optimum Compound, then Optimum Polish
-Protect with Jeffs WS Trigger and Natty's White.
4/14/07-
-Clay with Meguiars
-PC with PoliSeal and a White LC pad
-Duragloss 105 Total Performance Polish, one coat.
I was left with this after I had performed the 4/14 detail-
Not bad, eh?

Lets just say the car wasnt looking too good. An entire summer of bugs, rain, mud, sun, and other elements sure took its toll, esp. with only 1 shoddy wash in between. When I arrived, the car was in this state. :doh
and..
Excited to get moving, I unpacked all of what I had brought, and all I truly needed. Seen here:
I first cleaned the rims and tires using Meguiars Wheek Brightener at a 2:1 Ratio, and scrubbed(!!) the he** out the wells and tires with Purple Power 1:1. I then went over the rims with a mitt and some ZIP WAX wash that I had around from 4 years back to neutralize the pH.
After the W/T/W, I rinsed the finish completely and looked at how the Duragloss 105 TPP was holding up after over 7 months of abuse. It was beading well for its age, and I was pleasntly suprised. Here are a few pics of the beading:
I then proceeded to wash the finish using Duragloss Marine Wash Concentrate (Great Stuff!) with my ShMitt and the two bucket method. The wash has great lubricants and smells awesome. It also has great cleaning power.
The car really was filthy. Just take a look at this shot after one swipe and rinse with the ShMitt. Sorry, the WB was a bit off for this one.
After washing and rinsing the whole car, I examined the finish to check for swirls, R.I.D.S, or any other defects. It was flawless, as you can see here:
Im really tired, and have school tommorow, so I'll finish tomm. night. Good night Autopia!
