Flitz Buff Ball (As seen on TV)

I was watchin Spike TV today and saw (for the millionth time) the ad for the Flitz buff ball. I don't really have any use for it at the present time, but I was wondering if anyone here had used it or know someone that has. Does it really work, or is it just another $20 TV ad steal?
 
WOW! You'll probably find a good chunk of people buying it, using on their dirty wheels and proceed to SUPER-DUST the car with it. Like a rotary or anything powered, it can be scary in the wrong hands
 
I kind of want to try it on my 20 year old aluminum wheels. It's a pain to do it by hand because of all the holes and lugnuts.
 
I hear the Mother's Powerball is way more advanced. Different foam and structure design. Invest in that!

Chee - I was told in a later post by a Flitz distributor their felt ball was washable.

Just wanted to set the record straight with accurate information.
 
I talked with the "Flitz" People at Sema and they told me the ball was washable and usually needs to be washed after about 10 uses. They also said it "should" hold up to about twenty machine washes.
 
I had a chance to check out this product at a resent Carwash & Detailing Convention . The ball can be washed and there's no exposed melt tip at the end . It works great on those aluminum wheels to get all those nooks and cranies. I do know the Flitz polish works great , I use it on wheels and silver saddle tack.
 
Yeah, what rollman said. The demo I saw at SEMA was specific to show that there was NO exposed metal and that it fit into small holes. It was also stated that it could be washed.
