Flex stopped working.

I ended up buying a new one, I didnt have time to wait. Now after doing some reading while researching another rotary, it seams they have carbon brushes that wear down and and cause the motor to stop working. So maybe this is the problem......

If I recall correctly my flex manual, they are meant to stop when the brushes wear out so that the motor is protected.

So I wouldn't call it a problem as such but more like a design feature. Was there a second pair when you bought it? If there was, changing them might have solved your issue.

It failed after a year, and if the brushes are the problem thats a design "flaw" cleverly marketed as a design feature. I didnt get extra brushes, did you?

I did. I ordered mine from Germany as I live in Greece. So the offering might be different than in the US.

I am no expert but I think brushes in general need change in tools that use them. My Dremel states the same.

How many hours roughly would you say you worked your flex in total? I have worked mine about 15 with no issue.
