Flex 3401 maintenance. Anyone have a write up?

I've searched with no success. I'm just looking for instructions on maintaining the Flex, I.E. grease, or new brushes. I'm completely inept with taking stuff apart, so any insight would be appreciated.

Lubrication of the Backing Plate/ Felt Ring



Lack of proper lubrication is the main cause of the Flex over-heating. Use a small container and lay the felt ring flat on the bottom, use some synthetic 30w motor oil and soak the felt ring for 24 hours and then squeeze out the excess ( do this every 3 months or so dependent upon use) Or you could use a lithium grease on it. Rub it around the felt ring and the back of backing plate, and then wipe off any excess Replace both he felt ring and the backing plate.



Notes:

1. Lubricate the felt ring

2. Add a washer to the backing plate

3. Tighten the backing plate before use.

Glad I stumbled across this. I posted a thread asking what could have caused my problem.
