Hmm, how are you suppose to apply this? The wax is super hard like a candle. I tried using a spoon and scooping some onto a mf applicator, is this how everyone does it?

like any paste, take a foam applicator and lightly swipe/dab (in a circle) and then apply. a little goes a long way...

It will also help to use a little QD (425) to loosen it up a bit. Either a spritz on your applicator or in the tub, work it around a bit, and your good to go.

i love this stuff. when i use it i spritz dg's aw on the foam applicator and also the panel. it helps to spread the wax evenly and thinly. i think the aw gives it a little extra pop. super easy stuff to work with and you can't beat the price, also try their pink wax.

I never had problems with this wax. The only problem is that it smells so bad but you will get long time protection with this wax. Yes it is a little hard to take off because we got spoiled with the ease of all these LSP. this wax is a great product and sells for such a good price.

1) slightly warm foam/MF applicator and gently prime the pad.

2) Apply VERY(very) thin layer and thoroughly work it into the paint in cross hatching motions.

3) Allow to dry until it is easily wiped off with a plush MF misted with FK 425

4) *Repeat

Throw in another layer the following week or two.

1000P is extremely easy to wipe off. I use either foam or MF applicator and apply by hand. Just swirl the applicator in the tub and go.

By using a butter knife or spoon I can see how some of you are getting way too much on the applicator and thus spreading it too thick. The area should look almost transparent or slightly oily, within a few minutes you will see it haze up and touch up any spots you left.

I usually do the entire car then remove. Within 20 minutes you can put on a second layer to ensure uniform coverage.

This wax is amazing over Danase Wet Glaze, and even topped with Pink Wax. I love FK waxes...one of the few waxes that still smell like a real wax (nasty) and not like my wife's salon.

I applied FK1000 using a 4" black pad with a rotary on speed 1 the black finishing pad fits right into the can and spreads nice and thin. This stuff lasts and lasts applied in October and still beading in this lousy Long Island winter.

Another vote for using FK425 on the applicator. Just put two coats of FK1000P on the A8's summer wheels yesterday and IMO the moist-with-FK425 applicator makes all the difference.

Let it set up until it'll pass the finger-swipe test and it'll buff off easily, even if you put it on thick.

I applied it over a base of Autoglym SRP, seems like a good combo.

agreed with above - I like the way it seems to melt easily onto the pad and paint. It seems to dissolve and then spreads really easily and thinly. The damp pad seems to help it get started :)

I just recvd my order. Mine came in a silver can, looks alot different from the picture on the website. Anybody else get the silver can?

I totally agree with this method of application. Super thin coats.

425 helps pull off trickier areas.

I will say that there's something in 1000p that makes it a B*tch to come off.

I had Rick Rack prep my Prius for the winter and it wasn't easy, big pain in fact, to strip the car and get the polish to bite. Supposedly, the polish was clumping up or even forming little crystals. silicone?

Sorry, rick, for such a hard case. I had layered on about 5 coats over 2 months.

I'll only use 1000p again for wheels.

But Rick exceeded my expectations, did such a great job, and gave attention to other areas that I didn't expect!

I think I have used FK1 #1000 longer than most here and never had an issue to get it off the paint.

That is weird.

I've been using it since 2005 and really like it on Japanese metallics. For some reason, I don't like it quite as much on German paints though.

As noted, great on wheels and FK 425 is my favorite QD.

Where's Bence these days? He and Thomas probably have as much, if not more experience as any one on here with FK products?

Bence must be busy with the Auto show season?

Today I actally used #1000 for the first time on an Aston Martin that I take care of.

process:

light spot claying

Ez Creme Glaze

#1000

OCW to remove #1000

As always, Iapplied #1000 with the udm and a black 3m pad and used speed 6 to make sure the wax was worked on.

Did the interior and once I was done, I removed the wax. EASY!!!!!

It definately made the yellow paint look lighter but at the same time it was still glossy.

What an excellent product.
