FK1 LSPs

Mad iX

No detail for you!!!
I'm thinking about ordering some Pink Wax so thought I'd try out some of their sealants as well. Can anyone recommend something? I don't mind something with cleaners in it, as long as I know about it.

I read that their sealants can be layered immediately so I'm keen to try this out. Will definitely be topping with Pink Wax.

The four you can look into:

#215: a "cleaner/polisher/wax". Similar in application to AIO, but it has

a bit more agressive polishing ability. The pad dictates the cut. Will also

knock down oxidation. Leaves behind a sealant protection. Can be used

as true onestep, or layered. Very easy to apply and remove; can use wowo

method or let it set in and then remove. Can be used with rotary, D/A, or

by hand. Good clear looking shine.

#218: Sealant with "conditioners" (which I take to mean light chemical cleaner).

Has no real polishing ability, but can remove very light contamination. Can

be applied by D/A or hand. Very easy to apply and remove; allow about 20

mins. for the sealer to set and then remove. Also good clear looking shine.

#2180: Straight sealer. a bit thicker, and a little bit harder to apply and

remove. Applies by D/A or hand; allow about 20 mins. to set in, then remove.

Provides a harder, clearer looking shine.

#1000 (aka Hy Temp paste wax). I have no idea what s in this stuff, but it

also provides a very clear, hard looking shine. Very easy to apply and remove,

works with d/a or hand. Can be applied and removed immediately after, however

I suggest allowing it to set for as long as you can stand before removal.

With the exception of 2180, all the above actually are significantly easier to remove

when allowed to dry for a while (10 to 15 mins.).

The 2180 is supposed to be their longest lasting sealant. (1 year +)

They have a "Sample" kit for under $20 that has a little bit of their shampoo, 2180 sealant, PW, a glaze, dressing, and all purpose cleaner, if you were just curious.

I've found that for the most part, FK LSP's make a car look "Bright Shiny" as opposed to deep and dark.

I've gotten over 2 months out of 215 (1-step), which surprised me, seeing as it isn't a dedicated sealant.

I haven't done a comparison, but from what I've read, 218 is supposed to be the most similar in appearance to PW.

2180, 425, 1000p, and 218 (to a much lesser extent) do produce a bright shiny finish.

While I do like these products, I try to only use them on very good finishes, or as a

base for the winter prep. The sealants will also show up defects in workmanship, just

like KSG. 1000p does not show defects as hard, but it does not hide as well as other

waxes; the best I've found to hide defects has been PW. To get a deeper, wetter finish,

go with 216, 185 or PW. I do not find that they darken the paint as much, but they

do make the paint look much deeper and richer. 216 would be the closest to PW

if a liquid is prefered. And if you like to "spit-shine" PW with 425 as the liquid medium

is primo.

As for 215, I really like this product; but I use it for glass instead of

on the paint. It does not quite give the extreme water wick-off like RainX, but

it will move water off the glass when at speed, and keeps the glass feeling clean

and slick for a good while.
