My buddy finally brought over his "new" to him Grand Prix GTP which he picked up a couple weeks ago. The prior owner did not keep the paint in good condition and it had lots of swirls and scratches with oxidized paint. Of course it was black!!!
Decided a black car was a great first car to learn on... :biggrin:
Process:
Wash Z7 Zaino
Clay Z18 Zaino
Wash Z7 Zaino
Dry of course with various PakShak MF towels
Tried a white LC pad first with some Menzerna IP but it wasn't cutting it.
Stepped up to yellow LC pad with Menzerna IP and it was working great.
There are still some scratches that wouldn't come out, and don't know if we needed power gloss or a orange pad or wool pad to get to them. Ran out of time.
Had to skip the white pad with FPII, but it looked pretty good after the IP.
Wash with Zaino Z7 and dry again.
Zaino Z2 Pro with ZFX for the LSP.
Learned a lot doing this and also had a pad failure, velcro backing came off of the pad, hoping to get it swapped out as it was brand new.

After one pass of Menzerna IP on LC yellow pad.
Car all done. Still lots of rock chips, but the car is almost 6 years old!
Learned lots, and also learned that the Menzerna line dusts like CRAZY!!! What a pain. I think I am going to switch and try the OC, OP and OCW as I hear good things about them and they don't dust from what I hear.
Wish I had more time on the car because I think we could've cleaned it up some more. Didn't even get time to do the rims and dress the tires as my buddy had to run to an appointment. Got some white gunk in the cracks that still needs to come out also. Oh well thats what happens when you get rushed!
