First time using NXT on my Civic. *PICS*

I was visiting the States a couple weeks ago and since NXT wasn't available up here in Victoria yet, I decided to buy a bottle. I didn't have a chance to try it out until now, and here are my results. Oh, notice the lack of shade-shots? ;)

Impressions:
• excellent at hiding minor swirls
• deep, dark gloss
• brought the blue pearl in my paint out quite nicely
• a bit harder to buff off than I expected, but still good

I'm impressed, but it lacks the carnauba "pop" that I'm used to; all my previous details always ended with a carnauba topper. I am going to try topping it with #26 or S100 this weekend.

A quick question as well: I am attending a show and shine this weekend, and I am thinking of putting a layer of #7 on top of NXT, then topping that off with #26 or S100. Will #7 remove NXT? If it does, will it remove much of it?

Nice. Putting #7 over NXT will be a little weird, but I bet it will work. It will probably add a different look, but the NXT will hide imperfections. WIth a topper it should work. If you have time just strip it and do #7 + 2 Coats of NXT + A topper and it will look great.

Nice to see a fellow Canuck! :cool

I was just reading on another board about using #7 over a wax specifically when going to a show. IIRC, they said #7 didn't have the cleaning ability to remove the wax, and provided a nice wet look right before the show.

Best way is to try it out and see if you like it. Try a panel and see what happens :jump

Hey,

Meguiar's #7 (or #3, #5, or #81 for that matter) does not have any cleaning ability. Therefore, it will work fine over NXT. I would much prefer to see a pure polish like #7 being applied before and sealed with the NXT.
