NEW PICS LAST PG 2

This is my first time polishing so feel free to give me input. The tahoe is mine and it isn't in great shape by any means so it's not 100%.

Well, it is certainly improved. Keep at it!

Thanks. The paint definitly isn't in the best condition but I did what I could. Any pointers feel free to throw them out the as I only have finished the right side so far.

Did you put any pressure on the buffer during the 105 step, or just the weight of the machine?

Thanks, Rob

Yes I did put pressure during the 105, it was a workout lol. I was supposed to correct. I did the 105 twice and the 205 twice.

Did a good job for the first time! Sometimes tough to get a lot of correction out of a PC, but you've DEFINITELY knocked down the swirls a few notches. Good show, regardless... =]

Thank you!

looks like it could use a few more passes at both the 105 and 205 level.... but there has already been a MASSIVE improvement.

washburn- I'm sure you're happy with the improvement, it looks a lot better :xyxthumbs

The clear on those is pretty hard; I had a real job of it correcting mine even with a Flex. If you want to make a (much) bigger improvement, I'd get some 4

" pads and work small areas at a time. It might take many passes with the M105/cutting pad, and I don't mean just four or five. Two passes with each, even by *rotary*, wouldn't be sufficient IMO (a while back, ebpcivicsi hammered areas of mine with a rotary/twisted wool/M85, multiple passes.. and I *still* ended up redoing it to make things better).

Now that the whole vehicle is looking so much better, you could do more work on a one panel at a time pace without things looking weirdly 50:50, if you get my meaning.

Joe worked on your car?

Yeah, my (bought *VERY* used) '04 Yukon DXL in carbon metallic, prior to doing its (pretty custom, days-long) PPF install.

I had just bought it and was swamped with other stuff, Accumulatorette has family in Memphis that she visits frequently, and Joe and I always hit it off well here at Autopia (similar approaches to *so* many things), so it was a natural. Heh heh, there aren't many people I'd let touch one of my vehicles, no matter how good their reputation might be ;) but he's one person I'm OK with.

Interesting experience for both of us. Yeah, I redid it, but that's no slam at him by any means and he and I are still pals so don't misunderstand (I just really *am* that off-the-scale ;) as he can attest, plus once things calmed down I could apply nearly unlimited time to the project).

This is the vehicle from which we learned about Menzerna 106FF's weird filling ability; he used that after the M85.

big improvement! As stated above, once you get around the whole truck, you may want to go back and tackle one panel at a time to really perfect it.

Thank you for the suggestions. I ordered some Surbuf pads for the next time probably fall after some paint touch-ups and what not. I am hoping to get the best results out of the G110 without buying a rotory.

I agree. I just knocked out the hood today and hopefully going to do the drivers side soon.

I worked on my Tahoe again today. I tried my Surbuf pad with 105 and it worked great. I also tried Megs #7 on the the fender and didn't see any difference so I didn't use it on the rest.

An impressive improvement! I have a black Sonoma and the paint (clearcoat) is very hard to correct. I have settled on about 85% correction on the sides and about 70% on the hood/roof (some paint checking starting to form). You knocked much of the swirls down.

Thank you I have settled on mine also.
