First Tesla! Definitely an experience

Hi Everyone,

Here is a write up on the first Tesla i got to do some paint work on. It was definitely an experience as I encountered some issues I was not expecting. Nonetheless i got it done with the advice of a few (and very kind) fellow detailers, & it came out great! Thanks to those who i reached out to & were kind enough to give me some advice!

Few pics of the condition it was in before i got to work

Now to the paint work. Here is where i encountered issues. I got the entire end done no problem. However once i moved on, nothing was working. Anything i threw at it became nearly impossible to remove. I dirtied all my towels & pads & was at the end of my wits. I then talked to a few friends & got all sorts of advice, which i really appreciate!!

Due to the craziness i was going through  , pics were the last thing on my mind & had just a few.

Looks great! Just curious, what did you learn? That Teslas have really soft clear coats?

Thanks!

Well i went in knowing it would be soft. But it was super sticky for some reason, i'm assuming due to the ambient weather affecting polish.

Learned a new way to deal with such situations, more specifically how to remove compound & polish residue in such a way that did not re-marr the surface.

And that i should charge more next time i get a black Tesla.haha

Be careful when polishing around the little doors for the roof rack. A foam pad will flip them open. I usually tape them down.
