First Rotary Detail: White Ford 250 Diesal (56k No Way)

Todays detail was an old Ford 250 Diesal Truck. For the amount of years it has on it, the truck wasn't in that bad of a condition. Actually I was expecting a lot worse when the owner told me he wanted it to "shine again." There was some minor swirling present and the paint was slightly beginning to oxidize (though nothing sever). There was also some body damage and paint chips. Some areas were also filled in half assed w/ white paint just to fill in the holes. This was also the first detail I was able to use my brand new Dewalt 849 Rotary Buffer :buffing: The results were amazing, and cut down my time by about half. I wouldn't imagine using my little PC on a huge truck like this. Anyway, heres the rundown...

Wash w/ OCW

Clay w/ Sonus Gray

Hi-Temp APC on the tires and wheels

50/50 HTEC / OP w/ Orange Pad via Rotary at 1400 - 1700 RPM's

Zaino Z-12 for the windows

Megs NXT Gen Glass Cleaner for the windows

Zaino Z-20 for the tires

Werkstatt's Prime Strong on everything (body, windows, wheels)

Werkstatt's Acrylic Jett Trigger

Sonus Chrome and Glass Cleaner on chrome trim

303 AP on plastic and rubber trim

303 AP on interior trim

Megs NXT Gen. Glass Cleaner for interior windows

Now for the pictures...

:up Looks like you gave it a brand new paint job! FANTASTIC WORK!! I love a clean, clear, perfectly polished white!

Dude that is awesome!

I ordered my rotary last night. Can't wait to get it and try it.

Was that a single stage paint?

What kind of rotary did you order? After I get my car painted I plan on gettin a metabo. Right now I have the crappy Chicago Electric rotary, not bad for 35dollars tho.

Congrats on your first rotary job. Looks fantastic and sooo wet. I really like how the rotary makes the paint so clear and wet looking.

Thanks for the comments guys!

The roatary I used was the Dewalt 849. It's a bit on the heavy side, but in turn you don't need to apply as much pressure. The weight of the machine alone seemed to have been enough.
