I'm an entry lvl so i hope i have everything. I need two buckets... haha any local places that have them? I felt good spending this 140 dollars. I hope i don't get too addicted haha

Just wait... this is only the beginning!

For buckets I just use a couple cheap ones I picked up at home depot (by the one entrance they usually have piles of white and orange buckets you can use to shop or whatever). They're cheap, but they work well. Plus I can put lids on them if I need to.

I know Ace hardware and Home Depot both sell 5 gal bucks for a few bucks apiece. Could probably get two of em for a little more than $10.

Edit: Doh!, beat me to it

Welcome to Autopia honghong322 :wavey

When you hit the $1000 mark, you'll start to slow down your purchasing.

Harborfreight has the 6 gallon rectangular bucket with casters !

I paid $20 for the rectangle at HD without casters

I just started buying last last month and with my purchase today of the portercable kit, it will push me beyond the $1,000 mark! It's definitely addicting. I have to keep justifying to my wife why I need all of the things that I buy. Hopefully it will be my last purchase for a while..... Or until something else grabs my attention...

Anyways, welcome aboard!

Cool, I'm not the only one!

honghong322,

What, no PC!!! That will help send you into that upper spending range. Gotta get pads and a backing plate, then polish, then another polish, more MFs to remove them, a garage light, then some special soap to get everything clean..... It doesn't stop!!!

Good luck and let us know how your first experience goes...

If you don't want the huge bucket, stop by wallmart. They have the smaller size buckets for less than $1 a piece.

Quote: A pc is nice, but soon you will be thinking about a rotary while you lay in bed

If that's all you can think about in bed you'll need the 12-step Detailing Addiction Program call 1-800-WE'RE NUTS ;)

Ahh, so im not alone :grinno:

Hi, my name is Jeff and im nuts :wavey

i agree with goceltics on that one. i've spent like $500 in two weeks and i've got a pretty nice collection, pc7424 included. i've never been so hyped about detailing my car till i got hooked on this site. i'm not a full time detailer, i work 50+ hours a week so the weekends are when i do my dirty work. i do have to thank my brother though for saving me money by telling me which products to use and which not to use, i probably saved a boat load of cash thanks to him. And my name is Eric, i'm becoming a car detailing addict, but i understand the first step in recovery is admitting you have a problem LOL!!!

I'm not counting an initial $200-300 for a PC or rotary and pads-a couple hundred a year is more than enough for car detailing supplies

how long will this last me though? hopefully a couple of years ?? haha i might wash my car every two weeks depending on how dirty it is and detail like twice a year... maybe haha
