Hi all,
This is my first post. I want to give a thanks to all those that have posted their tips. The reviews on ONR got me to purchase it. I have to say ONR is a lifesaver since I can't wash my car at my new apartment complex. A plus to the recommendation on Aquawax. Works better than most products I tried.
Here's my quick detail on my girlfriends car. Ironically, it's a Celica (I'm the Civic Driver).
In any case. It was claybar-ed a few months ago. This was a quick detail job using the following process:
ONR wash: 2 bucket Method - No grit-guard: I can't see any true benefit of it if you do a two bucket method. 1 bucket method, I can see why it would be needed. Grout sponge from HomeDepot cut in half. Provides more versatility in tight corners. I cut 1 half with a cavity to get long small areas like under my spoiler. Use 2 MF towels to dry. 1 is soaked in the ONR solution and rung-out as much as I can. The other is bone dry. The damp MF towel goes first, the 2nd will complete the dry. Wash time 15mins. Celica is a small car.
Used the wash bucket (non-rinse) for solution to clean the wheels and tires using a wheel brush. Rims were easy to clean b/c Nu-Finish was applied to them a few months ago. (Thanks to some Autopia Members the Nu-Finish advice). Applied Armour All Extreme tire gel. I normally don't like Armor All products, but their tire gel is an exception. Great product IMO. In terms of value, I have used it on 28 tires (8 total washes) and I'm still more than 75% of the original product. 2 mins each tire. (8 mins total)
For the Wax, I used Durgloss' Aquawax. Applied using an MF towel folded 3 times. 8 mins total.
Windows. 5 mins.
Vacuum. 10 mins.
It's probably not the best job out there, but it's only 46 mins. Thanks again for the advice on the products.
