hey all, just used my pc today for the first time but i didnt really see much difference. the pic below might say otherwise but in the sun both sides of the paint looked the same.

i taped up half the hood... used 2 squirts of qd on an orange wolfgang pad and put a ring of ssr2.5 around the middle of the pad. spead at speed 3, worked in with 5. i went slow and made several up/down, left/right passes.

i noticed it started to dust so i guess i overpolished. did i not use enough ssr? i didnt put any pressure on the pc.

all help is greatly appreciated.

thanks.

today was my first day using the pc and the ssr2.5. i didnt get as good results as you did because apparently my clear coat is pretty hard. im going to try tomorrow with the yellow cutting pad. ive read where putting qd on before ssr2.5 will not make it work as good as dry, tho i could be wrong. good luck

10-15lbs of pressure on the head of the polisher, works alot better if you just grip that plastic piece on the head. moving an inch or so every second around the area you are trying to polish. put a ring of polish around the pad about an inch in, it should be towards the outside of the pad. you really dont need to prime the pc pad as it doesnt generate much heat. but try doing that tomorrow, and make sure you apply enough pressure, or you wont get the results youre looking for. anyway, glad to see you have the majority of the technique down though. and i figured id give you a hand...

Actually a little QD on the Orange pads helps it break in faster. You'll find there is a initial period where the pad remains a little stiff, ususally about the 3rd application of polish and its set to go. The QD just speeds the process up a tad. Get that sucker up to 6 also!! Its wise to take your time in the beginning, but dont expect a lot ntil you get it up to 5-6.
