I'll be detailing a co-worker's 2000 Integra Type-R next Thursday. Plan as follows:

QEW Wash

Clay

1z 1Z PP

1x AIO

1x SG

Basic engine bay wipe-down

Wonder how that combo will look on yellow paint?

I told him $100 for the exterior and around $30 for the engine. How does that price sound? If it were a unknown customer, I'd have to charge maybe a little more. I'm looking forward to it.

I love pheonix yellow and I am sure that the klasse twins will give you great results.

You could think about topping with #16 or p21s though.

20 bucks?? What were you planning on doing? I hope nothing more than a wash and maybe a qucikie wax. I love detailing, but 20 bucks for all that work would almost be an insult if you ask me.

ditto. im even a bit embarassed to charge my neighbor just $60 for full interior/exterior.

i can see $100 for an exterior plus maybe 30-50 each for interior/engine as reasonable for a non-professional.

btw, what determines whether you're a professional or not?

Technically, professional refers to profession, meaning one does it as a source of livlihood. We throw the term around though to mean trained, skilled, courteous, and other platonic concepts regarding service.

So far, the detail is still on for Thursday. He had to change the time until around 12:00 in the afternoon due to a prior appointment. I would have preferred to do it earlier in the day, but at least he's providing me a garage to work in. Hope I can make that Phoenix Yellow paint sparkle. I have no idea how long it will take me as this is my first "on-site" detail and the fisrt time I haven't had to chase the shade all day long to detail. Should be interesting.

sounds like a good plan to me, but maybe u should try s100/p21s ontop of the klasse sg, as it really works wonders on yellow and red cars. also, 30 bucks for an engine bay wipe down? u should alteast degrease it, and dress trim/rubber... especially sinces its a type r, and the engine is a work of art..

I charge $180.00 For :

Wash/Clay/Wash/Poilsh/Glaze/Seal/Wax(x2)/Interior Vaccum, Detail Interior, Trim Peices, Wheels&Tires, Engine Compartment Treatment.

I am doing more than just a wipe-down. I'm using QEW solution and cleaning all the exposed engine parts, underhood paint, and dressing it all with 303. I think that's pretty fair for $30.
