Hey everyone, been a while since I've posted, thought I'd show you guys what I've been up to. I have been subcontracting out to a couple stealerships recently, so it was a nice change of pace.
The subject was a 2004 Mazda RX8. Was detailed by a competition shop of mine. They definatly did a decent job, but rotary holograms were apparent in some locations. A couple scratches from coming through customs and generally soiled interior and engine bay made my day a long one. I also was asked to remove the wheels and paint the calipers and rotor innnereds. Turned out pretty nice if you ask me. Considering what other shops are charging now a days, I think the owner got a good deal. He is a repeat customer, and a good guy so I gave him a deal.
I don't have any before pictures, but you can just take my word for it.
Process on the exterior was:
Power Cut Plus via rotary and polishing pad at 2000 RPM
GS1 via rotary and polishing pad at 1500 RPM
#81 via rotary and finishing pad at 1000RPM
Topped with Awsome Gloss
Tires and wells got some lovin with Tuxedo
Rims were coated with a dust repelling concoction of mine. Works decent really. Can't share the secret though.
Interior received my normal cleaning with 20:1 degreaser and then topping with Dress it Right. Leather got some Wolfgang conditioner.
Engine bay was degreased with 4:1 degeaser and then topped with Tuxedo.
Calipers were painted red obviously.
Anyways, enough chit chat. Here are the pictures.
On the jackstands after putting the wheels back on:
Mmm...swirl free
A couple interior and engine bay shots.
