I like it!! Never heard of or seen that car before in my life........ looks good indeed! Kinda reminds me of a volvo with more curves to it, actually....... about a 750 or 850 series??
To sum it up, this car had 10 years of dirt and had never been really deep cleaned. It was a challenge, but helped refine some of my techniques, plus I got to test out the new Meguiar's Microfiber pads (which I really like) and associated polish and finishing wax. It came out better than I thought it would, not perfect, but as good as I could get in the time alloted (note the stain on the driver's mat, hit it 5 times with APC/Folex and it wouldn't come out)
So it all started with the interior, I used Meguiar's APC 10:1 dilution on interior plastics and leather, Folex and Meg's APC 4:1 on carpets.
On to the exterior. I used Meguiar's Super Suds wash, Degreaser for the engine, APC 4:1 for tires and wheel wells, P21S for the wheels. I then clayed with Meguairs, Blackfire and some agressive clay (not sure the brand) with Last Touch 1:1 as the lube. This was followed up with D300 and the MF cutting pad, then finally D301 with the finishing pad. I really like this combo, easy to use, cuts really well, and I love the smell of both products. Over all this will be my go to. I could've got more correction with M105, but the customer wasn't looking for perfection and I didn't want to deal with the dust.
Very impressive work. The interior was quite a mess, and you did a terrific job cleaning it up. I love the 50/50 shots of the seats. That really shows how well they cleaned up.
Thanks guys, it was nasty, but the owner was quite shocked at the turn around (I really need to get reaction pictures, it's quite amusing).
Yeah the 50/50 I had to take pics of, those seats were gross, but shows how nice leather is to clean, if it was cloth I doubt I'd have been able to get them as nice.
I did a Blazer two years ago that was almost that nasty, it was a construction workers truck. I feel your pain for how how you probably had to work on that interior, you did a great job. You might want to hit up Home Depot and look for a product called Krudkutter, it should be able to get that stain out when you are faced with them again.
I hope you got paid well for that detail, car is now easily worth 1500 dollars more!
Dude, that is one amazing turnaround! You did everything but take the flat spot out of the front wheel! Care to share how much time you put in this car?
Probably 12-15 hours over 5 evenings. I wasn't going to get that heavy into it, but after doing the first seat, I couldn't stop, it just looked so good.
