PB SSR 2.5 orange pad (started with optimum polish II with orange pad, but it wasnt doing enough cutting)

Optimum polish II white pad (i also have opti-seal, but the polish II on the white pad seemed to take out the marring from the first cut)

sealed with klasse AIO

my question is, should i be using a harsher product, or step up to a wool pad. the 2.5 did the job, but it gets awful dusty, and doesnt seem to have as long a working time as the optimum products. also, should i have done a third step with the opti seal, even though i saw no marring? thanks again for the input, and sorry for the long read

If it ain't broke don't fix it. 2.5 worked. You could try adding a drop of op to the pad with the 2.5 to extend work time and decrease the dusting. That said, a few PFW pads would be a good addition to your collection. I use them for when I need more cut, they finish close to or better than orange foam (sometimes, some paints).

I haven't tried OP with PFW, though. I usually use it with a *heavy cutting* polish or a compound.

I have found that a white pad can leave a very slight holo that is hard to spot. If that is the case then follow up with a very mild finish polish like 3m UF and a blue pad. It will leave an unbelievable gloss behind, it is also very easy to use. If you have a difernt finishing polish like FPII or 85rd then those should also do the job.
