First Client Ever?

hey guys...In my current career field I have a client who sees my car on a regular bases and wanted to check the inside and outside out. I showed her and she offered me money to detail her car. I have always loved keeping my car clean but this is the first person to ask me to do theirs. Couple thoughts....i have always cleaned the wheel wells, ash trays, gas doors, and all doors and hinged areas, as well as washed and waxes outside of car by hand, and then do the inside vacuum and dash and vent clean and so on...



I guess this is something I have always done for my own enjoyment and pride, never thought of it as a way to make money for me. She said she would pay me...but I think I might do it for free and then tell her if she is happy to tell her friends. She has an acura mdx, recently divorced, and told me it wouldnt be just a one time thing as she now has no one to even wash her car for her.



How much do you or would you charge? Any tips? How did you go from Hobby to revenue?

So just detail it. Charge her like $50, ask her to tell her friends, and call it a day.

think about the time it will take.and come up with an hour figure.i usually like to detail on the side for atleast 20/hr.sometimes i do it for 30/hr.if use expensive detail products that when i charge roughly up to 30/hr.

As for detail payments I have done like 3-5 details free (or for a tank of gas when it was 4.50 gal) Just to biuld a client base... now I have people asking me to open up shop all the time, the truth is I dont want to mix my pleasure with work, that and the military takes up 75% of my time.:usa
 
Devil....thanks for the info and thank you for your service. It is truly appreciated. Past AF CCT member here...till they booted me due to plates and metal in my body.
