Today I had the honor of doing a local celebrity's vehicle. I had actually started talking to him after finding out he knew the owner's of the NSX i have cleaned up in the past. And who is this local celebrity? He is a correspondent for speed channel during nascar season, and is one of the hosts of TOP Gear USA, it is Mr. Rutledge Wood.

This is how the truck came to me:

After talking with him a little bit, his schedule doesnt really permit him any time to clean his vehicles himself, so I offered my services to try and help him. He is a real family man and his knowledge of cars blew me away. Really nice dude too.

So after foaming the vehicle with a mixture 2 oz meguiars hyper wash and 30 oz of water, I got to rubbing the surface down. I followed that up with my meguiars g110v2 with a tangerine lake country pad and meguiars 205 polish. I followed that up with Autoglym HD wax. Wheels & tires were cleaned with Eagle 1 A2z and the arches were cleaned with a mixture of dawn, surf city grime remover, and meguiars apc and water.

Executive decision was to not put any tire shine on.

Enjoy the afters:

He also requested that I do his oddyssey minivan, but I have not gotten those pictures uploaded yet.

Very cool & CONGRATS! Truck turned out beautifully ......... love the BIG brake kit on the 'Yota.

Thanks guys. Bryan, everything is good, hope you had a great new years and christmas. I have been meaning to talk with you as I still owe you for those filters.

THAT'S GREAT!!!!! congrats...that could only lead to more business from the like. And he's the host of TopGear USA too, so how cool would that be if he plugged you on the show!

Very nice! And as expected, someone involved in sport journalism has a truck. ;)

One of my regulars has a sports talk show on the local ESPN affiliate, occasionally he mentions me on the air.

Hey, someone's gotta make sure the cars look good on the show, right?

That'd be a pretty sweet selling point:

"You can see my work featured on Top Gear USA"

:P

Great job on the truck.

Nice work, the truck looks dripping wet now. I'm sure you'll see much more of this guy and many referrals. Congrats!

Last episode of TopGear US, Rut was boasting how tough his Dodge truck was and they put it to the test along with a ford and a chevy. Long story short, if you failed the test you had drive a Toyota home. Funny, his Dodge died 2nd and i guess he took a liking to the Toyota!

That's pretty neat. Good work on the truck as well. I'm liking Rutledge more as the show goes on, too. Seems the show is getting better now that the hosts are getting more comfortable with each other.

Thanks again guys for the nice comments. I have the pictures of the van i did for him too, but have not had the opportunity to post them yet. I will this weekend.

Beautiful job on the truck but uh, I wouldn't elevate Rutledge Wood to any type of celebrity status :yuck:....he is probably the dorkiest of the three boorish hosts of TopGear USA, a program more akin to a "Jacka$$" movie rather than an actual automotive show. Dump all three of these hacks and replace them with Wee Man! :heelclick
